Last time I try to help a 350z owner

So it starts to pour in downtown calgary, and some moron decides to leave his brand new 350z convertable with the top down outside on the street. My parking spot was super close and i happened to have a blue camping tarp in my truck that i had lent to a friend. So i put it over his car with a note leaving my phone number so I can get my tarp back, he calls me back and is furious that i touched his car...

i guess trying to help people out these days isnt worth it anymore... but i know that i would have been super appreciative if it had been my car. I should go dump a couple of litres of water in his car and see how he reacts.

GRRRR

/end rant

Seriously, I would go and turn on a hose and start to soak the inside the inside of his car the next time i saw it. It is stupid **** bags like these who really dont deserve what they have. I know if it were me, I would be sooooooo appreciative I'd probably insiste on being his personal butler or something. Easier said then done but try not to let it get to you. This guy is a peice of crap and you are such a better then he ever will be. P.S. did you get your tarp back? :D

I don't know about you guys, but I am a bit wary about anyone getting near my car...much less putting something on it. Maybe he was afraid it might get scratched or something and that was more important to him than driving a fishbowl around town. I am not saying that I would not be appreciative if I were in his situation, but there are always two sides to every story.

Or maybe he was trying to flood the inside so that he could complain about a bad seal on his convertible top that he was unable to prove in the past??? Maybe he wanted to return the car under the lemon law?

i know how picky i am about my car, so i was extremely careful. He left the tarp with the guy who works at the parking lot, so i should get it back. But as i said next time i will pray to the gods it rains harder... and maybe that he cant find his keys.....

Good job man. That guy has some nerve to get mad at you when you were only trying to help him. Leave it at that and let things happen. To him maybe.

+1... I know I'd left the top down on my Miata once or twice when a light rain started, and even then I was grateful when someone just took the time to tell me about it. I'd be awestruck that another person, much less someone I didn't even know, would actually stand out in the pouring rain to carefully cover my car like that. I wouldn't know how to react. lol. Kudos to you for the kind gesture, and boo on the Z owner for such a lowbrow response...

i did it mostly because i thought a person who spends a lot of money on a brand new car, probably wouldnt want to see it get soaked.... he probably wasn't all that bright, its been raining for the past two weeks straight here. Oh well, next time i'll do the exact same thing, unless it is his car.

on the bright side i got my tarp back :D

Damn that was good of you. I too am a former Miata owner as s.o above has commented and would have been bloody well grateful. So much so, I might have loaned you my wife..umm, wait....definitely a beer or three as Shamblerock has stated.

Your gesture harkens back to the good old days in the 50's and 60's when car enthusiasts whether driving MG's, Triumphs, Morgans, even Porsches or Jaguars were a decent lot and ready to lend a hand to a fellow motorist in a jam ( more than likely baulky Lord of Darkness Lucas fuel pump on British machines). Way to keep the spirit alive!

That 350 owner is such a LOSER!

I am very paranoid about people touching my car but if someone took the time to cover it up for me, I don't think I would have been pissed. Quite the opposite actually.

You stopped his car from turning into portable jacuzzi! :o

Oh well, some people just don't see the kindness in others, how sad.

all i can say is that 350z owner is a ***!

wth? you put up all that time to save his butt, and he reacts in such a gay way???

I might call him out with some lame excuse and bring some freaking water bazooka and soak his car wet and say "THATS WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN!!! A-HOLE" and just leave.
