London Area - Autocross - Wosca - Delaware Speedway
WOSCA is very pleased to announce that we've finally secured a venue for 2011.
The 2011 WOSCA Summer Slalom Series will start this Sunday, May 15th, and be going once a month, we'll be hosting 4 events at Delaware Speedway with our annual Fanshawe Charity Slalom as event #5 in September.
The format is just like any other autoslalom (autox), but the course will be on the oval itself. Pits will be on pit road, or the infield (when we run out of room on pit road).
If you'd like to compete, then read the official flyer here: http://www.wosca.com/Event_info/SummerSeries2011.htm
Dates are:
Sun. May 15
Sat. June 25
Sun. July 24
Sat. Aug. 20
If you'd like to just check it out then first car is at noon and we'll run until 5pm (cars off the track at 5 and we're out of the facility at 5:30). Just park your car outside the pit entrance. At the pit entrance you'll have to sign both waivers, then you can enter when the marshal allows you to cross the track. Minors will need to have a parental waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.
There will be bathrooms available, but no food onsite. Nearest food is Komoka (Subway and Timmies) or the corner store in Delaware that sells pizza and fried chicken.
The May event was very interesting. The course was challenging, but they did an excellent job of keeping you away from the walls at the wrong times. I'd highly recommend everyone come out. It's a great way to have fun with your car without the stress of a full on track day. However, it needed more rotary representation. The regulars are a great group who are very welcoming to newbies and veterans alike.
