getting a used rotary it's like buying lottery
you better ride on a brand new demo car, feel how the engine sounds and power
and go ahead to ride on those 8's u wanted to buy
ask for the information about how the previous owner drive the car if u can.
high milage doesnt mean all, if the milage mainly come from highway.
But the milage were from tracks, low milage would kill the engine.
this is my opinion. if I get it wrong, please, correct.

Funny thing with this car is, if you ask the salesman how it was driven by the previous owner, and the usual reply is "oh such and such drove it very slowly and easy on the engine, didn't rev it high or anything like that blah blah blah"; then your actual response is more like "oh really? that's bad then, since the ports are most likely clogged up with carbon, I don't want this car anymore...." ahahahaaha

It's akin to going to the local farmer to buy apples and you ask him, "Hey are these apples soft? (in a tone that suggests you are looking for soft apples)" and he replies, "Yes are very soft and juicy". Then you reply with, "Oh no thank you then, I was looking for crunchy and firm texture applies" and you walk away. ahahaha

I've been thinking I jumped the gun a little early on this GS. Already gotten in a little trouble the past couple rainy days.

Could be the tires... or just me... or the Miata I've been driving for 2 years.

No you don't need it!! Just an extra safety precaution for that one incident when your woman's head is in your lap lets say and you aren't concentrating that well on the road and you turn a little to hard and BANG your free bj just became the most expensive one EVER!!

....and I love it in the winter!!

Yeah that's true. I usually head off to the Finch TTC parking lot on a weekend when it's wet/raining/snowy out to see how whatever new thing I'm driving handles. Haven't had the time yet this time.

Sorry to hijack btw, lol.

No, I haven't made a purchase yet, still deciding. #1 seems my best bet, maybe I should wait a bit and see what else comes up on autotrader... not too sure. First time ever I'm looking for a car so kinda taking my time, I really don't want to make a bad decision. There's so much stuff to check, I guess with a 2004 model, there's probably quite a few tune up checks to look after, I guess minor things like spark plugs, fluids, bearing/joint checks etc are expected, I just don't want to buy it and then have to change something like the timing belt or brakes...

Again, for other cars maybe private sale is as good as it gets. but this is a rotary and you don't know how stupid ppl can be treating their cars...hence my opinion on dealer checked/verified ones...

What I would suggest you is, go US to buy an 8 with the same amount of money, you could buy a double nice 2nd hand 8. These are the points why I would suggest you to buy it from US.
#1 From my knowledge, my friend in US said the regular price of a 4-50K milage 8 is about $9000 (private deal)
#2 As you are buying a 2nd hand 8, the warranty is usually void or expired, so there is no different between u buying a car outside Canada.
#3 the total amount of purchasing an 8 from US including Tax, would lower than buy a high milage 8 from GTA

But before doing that, please ask about your insurance company how much different between it.

These information might not be totally correct, but this is what I heard from my friends in US. Therefore, please double check it if you are interested in it.
