As long as you get winter tires you should be fine. I got a set of 17 inch FRD 6 wheels on Toyo Garit HT winter tires. They've performed beautifully all winter.

i'm slapping 18 inch low pro winters next year...... you can pick them up at mazda along with a performace rim for cheap. My gf's father drove his in the winter...... no problems !
