Lost to a rock on the 401
I could see it coming from about 75 feet, no gravel trucks around. It was about the size of a golf ball, hit the lower part of the passenger side. Ended up with a softball size series of concentric circle cracks.
End result, a new windshield by Speedy Auto Glass in Kitchener (King St), cost $414, less than my insurance deductible. Job was first rate.
It sucks, but as I was feeling sorry for myself I passed a four car pile up on the other side of the 401 coming into Toronto, put's it into perspective.

That's why I try to avoid the 401 like the plague especially the stretch between Burlington and Mississauga ... seems like an invisible asteroid field out there! I've been hit twice but was lucky enough to have them repaired but that's still $200 and half way to a new windshield!
