mazda gabriel sucks

just wanted everyone in the montreal region to know that the mazda gabriel garage on st-jacques is terrible. STAY AWAY! i got more horror stories than i can count. worst service ever, not to mention they know NOTHING about rx-8s. i know what you're thinking "duh dealership", but I gave them very easy simple maintenence tasks to do and they failed.

I won't delve into details unless you guys ask to know more.

We prolly need more than 'sux' - you are calling out a whole dealership as your first post - we don't know nuffin abouts you or your problems........

Alright listen up ppl! first off i bought the car in june and took it there (it's the closest mazda garage to my house) for an inspection. I already noticed that the headlight auto-alignment malfunction light was already lit up, my cd player wasn't opening to take in cds, the clutch was burnt worst than hell and i had 2 burnt bulbs.

they found none of these problems. they did however find an oil leak. so i scheduled that to be fixed and asked them to change the burnt bulbs that they never noticed. so i bring my car in for the work whenever. when i pick it up i find new scratches on my roof (which they denied they made even though the inspection said i didn't have a scratch there before) and they didn't change my bulbs! but i was actualy charged for the labor!!!!

i literally got 4 more stories and they just keep getting worse. up to you guys if u wanna hear em.

Sounds like a bad experience. I won't be doing any business with them.

Oh wait. Canada. Well I still won't be doing any business with them.

I know im just stoking the fire, but why would you take a car to the dealership that you just bought? Did you buy the car knowing that it had all the issues you stated above? Did you buy the car Mazda Gabriel or another dealer?

01racing: i brought it there to get it checked. I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything major wrong with the car before the 1 month warrenty was up.

you want more!!!!! So first of all let me mention there service technician's basically act like they don't want your business. the never return your calls (then say they never got the message! really so it's the answering machine's fault now?), they never talk to you directly on the phone only hrough the secretary. plus there attitude is always argumentative. I had to fight them just to get the friggin bulb changed without getting charged labor again. I could have just changed it my freakin self! it's like a 10 min job, how much money can mazda possibly be missing out of there pockets!

anyways long story short THE CAR STARTING LEAKING OIL AGAIN! it wasn't even a week since they "repaired" it (it was actually leaking a lot worse than before too) and they didn't even want to take my car in right away. when they finally took it I patiently waiting a week without a car and without ever hearing a word from them. So i call (bad service ensues) to at least get a curtesy car or something and i'm told its a new leak so no fault mechanic work. Yeah right!

Long story even shorter the Manager decides in my favor, changes every gasket pipe and hose all under warranty. I get off scott free

my friend has a 2006 mazdaspeed6 and recieved the same kind of treatment. they basically know nothing and the more prestige cars. OH YEAH! when i picked up my car once they didn't pull my hand brake all the way up. i turned it on with the door open and my RIGHT foot on the clutch with half my body outside the car (just to warm it up). i almost had a heart attack and scrambled for the brake when the car started moving down the hill because of my added wait.

I was worked at Mazda dealers from 1988 - 2009. I was GM from 1993 - 1996 and again from 1998 - 2009. I am not defending any attitude you feel you received from any dealer as I was not part of the conversations in any way. I can comment on "the lack of knowledge about prestige cars". Mazda probably sold less RX8's from 2004-2010 than they sold Mazda 3's in a 90 day period. Same goes with Speed 6 or Speed 3, MX-5 etc. Tech training on those models was almost non existent. You are assuming that most techs have the same enthusiam for your RX8 as you do, and I can tell you they dread when they see those cars in for anything but routine maintenance. You have to understand that the tech will actually cost himself wages when he works on an RX8 most of the time, when if they were working on Mazda 3's or 5's they would make money. If you search around some dealers have the odd tech who is an enthusiast (Rotary Greg at Guelph City Mazda) and understands your vehicle. Most however would rather never see one again. The only advise I can give you is remember you will "get more with sugar than with vinegar" and word will spread of your rants and no dealer will want to talk to you or help you.

I've been bringing my car there, never really had a problem, but all they were doing is oil changes. Then when I wanted a compression test, they first didn't want to do it without seeing symptoms of engine failure, then they said their tester broke while testing the car. Whatever, went to the Mazda dealer in Brossard on Taschereau, got the test done next day, even chatted with the mechanic a bit, they have a guy who's been doing all their RX8s for years. Recommend.

Good to know! Not to say that I'll take my car to the dealership again if I can help it but good to know nonetheless.

Bought mine at Spinelli in Lachine. Gabriel is also close to home. Brossard isn't that far either...

i understand what you'ree saying. i don't really blame the mechs for not knowing the car inside out. It's the service that i hated. if the customer doesn't feel right then they don't come back. thanks for letting me know about the rotary specialist, i have family in guelph so that info might ome in handy in ten years.

Mazda Laval sucks don't go there, I did my servicing there and had the plugs replaced and they replaced it with a crack plug! Fooded the engine and blamed me for flooding it and told there was nothing that could fix it. Long story short went to MAzda 220 a little far from my place but always reliable and quick service you pay a little bit more but you know that the work is done right. And for Gabrial Mazda I never liked them since they totally ignored me and burshed me off when i was looking to buy an RX-8 (guess they didn't think I could afford it).

JP Mazda Longueuil

Here in Longueuil I had good service, no problems whatsoever. Recommended!

This guy mentioned above in Taschereau also seems to be worth at least a visit
