Mazda at the Toronto Car Show

Considering that they are benchmarking the R8 against the 997 turbo, $200k is not unbelievable. However, it does get a little silly if they price it too close to the Gallardo.
I saw the R8 at the Autoshow and thought it was a nice looking mid-engine car, but it doesn't really scream exotic the way a Lambo, Ferrari, Elise or NSX do. I'm surprised by how small it is though. It's only a little longer than the RX-8.
The Kabura concept is a beautiful car. I have no doubt in my mind that once they finish with the current RX-8 model run, they'll replace it with the Kabura. This car reminds me of those Honda concept teaser cars. It's not really a concept, but rather an exercise in easing the market into the look of an upcoming model.

Climacus,
Keep in mind I said the R8 will probably be close to 200G's if everybody starts ticking away the options. It's the options that make the car skyrocket in price. You can live with the "base" car at 150G's. But alot of people love picking options they don't really need.
The Gallardo is closer to the Ferrari in terms of price. Typically a Gallardo will go for about 220-235G's. This is before taxes of course. You can also go crazy on the options list and skyrocket the price to 270-280G's.
The Kabura is destined to become a production car. What model name is the question.
qtwre,
Yes, you can get a Vantage for $150G's. It'll be awhile before your order comes through (I think there's a 2yr waiting list) but the R8 is the new "it" car. Don't be surprised if you start seeing R8's around T.O. more than you do Vantages.
$150g's I would still get a Ferrari. F355's are going for 95-110G's! Better than a Vantage...

You been checking into getting a Vantage?!?! LOL Must be nice to have money!
I actually prefer the F355 over the F430. The F430 seems a bit too automated.
The only thing that drives me crazy about the F355 is the steering angle. I hated driving it after awhile. Felt like I was driving a bus or something.
Oh well... 1 can dream...

Yeah, I've driven them on and off over the years. Just a few friends who are willing to give you the keys and drive.
Still something special to drive around in a F355.
I wish I had that type of cash...
