Mazda's new concept...

Ok, lets see what the RX-8 guys make of this...

http://rotarynews.com/node/view/869

There are certain elements that come across really nice. Others not so much.

What do you guys think?

Lates,
It is no where near as stunning a design as the good old 3rd generation RX-7,
You must have snuck this line in eh Neo?

As for the car...THEY MUST BE KIDDING! I understand the aquatic theme because it looks like a freak'n blue whale, right down to the little pleats. Who the f@$% wants to drive a blue whale? In what freak'n focus group did some schmoe get up and say "what not make a car that looks like a whale...thats ill man!" Are they gonna get really fat chicks to model with the car?

Must be the Ford influence.

I kinda laughed when I saw that line on the website myself...

Well, here's a small tidbit. The guy doing the design is the same guy who penned the Pontiac/Saturn Soltice/Sky.

I think they made a mistake letting that guy do the design.

Then again, if you start to see certain details, there are some angles where the car doesn't look too bad. Clearly the front and rear have to go. But the side profile doesn't look too bad. Fender flares are a bit much. But at least it'll be unique! lol

I think the best concept they did was the Kabura. so close to a production machine. Who knows, it'll probably be made down the road.

The name is NEARLY a racial slur.

Flame me if you want, but I think it is a very interesting concept car. I don't want this to be the 2nd generation 8, but it is very interesting nonetheless.

I think the front end is alright BUT the side and rear are blargh. Reminds me of a RC car.

If I recall the designer for this one also did the Kabura which looked much better.
This one looks like the Senku concept - the one with the sliding mini-van doors

The front makes it look like a character in the movie Cars. It has a futuristic look though, I like that.
