Mazda's show for the Detroit Autoshow!

You sure you don't want to drive up and meet us somewhere?? That'll be easier to do then ride the rocket! That TTC is never predictable.
You can leave your car at his place if you like. Or you can leave the car at the car pool around Colousses. What do you think?

Footman, that's being really specific! lol
I'm sure we'll be able to find something.
In the mean time, I invite everyone to check out the following link!

Alright, so Hevnsnt has a ride which leaves 4 of us. Don't really need to rent a car for that. But I do have a request. Last year we took my car out there, I'm hoping this year somebody else wants to use their vehicle.
Unless everyone wants to rent a car still.
What's everyones take on this?

Ok, we'll go with the rental.
I'll see about getting a nice mid/large sedan. Ride in style.
Since you've got your heart set on getting picked up from there, we can swing by to get you.

Thanks Neo...
Now, lets talk about time logistics...
Here is my suggestion as it was the case on how it was done last year when I went.
1) Depart Toronto by 8am (meaning everyone will be in the car already). It takes 4 - 4.5 hours to get to Detroit.
2) Arrive in Detroit around noon time for lunch (I suggest whitecastle to get those burgers)
3) See the autoshow afterwards till whenever we feel we're done.. usually after like 4 hours max!!
4) Have dinner in Detroit (any suggestions? Last year I went, I had some good mexican food in little Mexico part of Detroit).
5) Drive back to TO afterwards. We should be back home by midnight in Toronto.

^^Make a stop in Kitchener at the Homer Watson McDonalds at 9am. Have breakfast if you like.
It's gonna be at least 4hrs at the show.
You guys think we should take the bus across from Windsor like we did last year? There's advantages to the bus as parking will be a mess and expensive in Detroit. Plus the bus bypasses the line at the border.

Footman drives a hard schedule! lol
No worries Hevnsnt, we'll be by your rendezvous point.
Footman,
We'll be picking up Warren along the way and then rendezvousing with Hevnsnt before we reach Detroit. If we time things correctly we should be in the autoshow around 11ish.
This gives us plenty of time to check things out. There's alot to see and there are going to be alot of people getting in the way.
Last year we were out by 6ish or so. Made it back to the Canadian side and into a local restaurant/pub to have dinner.
We left Windsor and back in T.O. around midnightish or so. So timing we'll be alright.
I've went ahead and got a quote for the weekend regarding the rental. A full size car will be $54. Weekend special. That's only $13 and change per head. We'll arrive with plenty of room. No worries.

No worries for parking my friend. We go straight there. I know from experience.
Neo, check this link out:
http://www.clickandpark.com/apps/eve...l&event_id=412
Select LOT 6. It will be $13 and the walk is like < 5 minutes away. That's what I used exactly last year.

Footman,
I think it'll be better if we just take the bus over. This way we don't have to deal with the lineups and we can get tickets right from the bus station.
Plus the car stays on the Canadian side so nothing happens to it.
Hevnsnt,
I think we'll do the same thing we did last year.

This just got better guys. Grand-AM GT team Speedsource will announce a major partner for this coming season. There is a very high chance that the #70 will be there as well!. Along with the Furai, that makes two 3-rotor powered race cars at the show!

Agent008,
No, you don't need to have a valid passport yet. You can take your citizenship or you can bring your expired pass port. Either one is good.
I remember the customs officer tell me even if my passport has been expired for 9yrs, it's still better to take that than just rely on your drivers license or your citizenship card.
Renesis_8,
I can't wait to see the Furai. The sound from the vid is absolutely crazy! lol

Guys, I have no problem getting more people out to the show.
But you've got to be absolutely sure no later than Wed of next week. Which is too say 3 days before we actually go.
I'm planning on picking up the rental Friday so I can drive out Sat. early in the morning to pick up people.
If there's more than the 4 already committed to go then I'll see about renting a van instead of a full size car.

Danielson!!!
Merry belated Xmas and Happy New Year buddy!!
I was wondering if we would hear from you again.
Good to hear you're still driving the beast around. I'm afraid to know how many sets of tires you've been through.
Nate,
Is there a meet point along the 401 you can rendezvous with us?
I know I'll be stopping in the waterloo/Kitchener area. But that's a little far for you.
