Huh?

You both say dealers are giving away new '05 GT's for $33800 Canadian? Thats nearly $7000 off MSRP, way WAY below cost.

You guys sure?

I've seen some leftover 04s going for that in 05, so I'd believe that price.
All part of the reason why re-sale values for this car are in the toilet. They are dirt-cheap used.

Reminds me, to stop being an early-adopter.
Any other pre-order put down a deposit and paid full list with no negotiation people in the room? Raise your hands.

Redshift, I got $3500 off my '05 GT, plus 1.9% financing (4years) back in Sept and I consider myself a master negotiater...I guess not if people are getting $7000 off.

But I'd bet thats not happening, unless its a demo or in the case of a recent RX8 shipment that I know of that has hail damage (though they were only taking $1000 off; many had half a dozen dings on 'em). I bet Starlight Angel was referring to new GS's going for $33800.

I don't agree with your resale comment, since many '04 were on the road in '03, so they are three years old now. If you compare other makes you won't see better resales % wise. I saw a 350Z the other day for 22!

You do have a point, I suppose. It is 3 years old now. I was a little bit spoiled by the Civic SiR I traded for my RX-8 ($23K new, and I sold it 4 years and 80,000km later for $17K).

But, I've seen used GTs locally with an asking price of $28K.

I tried to sell mine a year ago for $32K and didn't get any interest. Mostly because brand-new, 04 leftovers (not demo's, just the rural dealers not being able to move the cars) was asking $33K for them.

Either way, I'm still done being an early adopter.

The car was reduced 5000 to 33,800 but its a GS guys! I ended up getting it for 32000 plus taxes after the negotiating.

Thanks for all the comments. I feel a bit better now. The sales person said he is now going to throw in the rubber mats for me if I bring back the survey filled out.
Interesting!

Thats a great deal Starlight Angel on a GS, nearly 5000 off, never heard better! Can I bring you along next time I negotiate ...maybe its a girl thing.

By the way, the "bring in your survey" thing is cheating on theirpart. I wonder what they do with crappy surveys...right in the garbage and Mazda Canada doesn't see it!
