Just confirmed with BEMC and its definately on! We will have an area to meet and show off, then luch time lapping for a donation of $20.00 to either Sick Kids Hospital or Make A Wish. Next question is what other clubs (Mazda only) should we invite?!

If you do this the week of the 17th, it's a long weekend and more people (me) could make it down

Cant do it on the 17th BEMC is the only club nice enough to offer us track time and the facility at no cost. It is the 1st regional race weekend of the year and we have always done it with BEMC since 2004. The long weekend is a Pro Race weekend with Trans-Am etc so it aint gonna happen (lol)

I will invite the RX7 guys, but usually only a couple show up. I was thinking of the Mazda 6 guys, and the Mazda 3 guys.

The TorontoMazda6 club would only have maybe 5-6 people show up so I dont think that would be a big deal either way. The Mazda 3's though are another issue lol. Now if we could get a small committee to organize it better we could call it "Scarboro Mazda and the RX8 Club.com present........Mazda's at Mosport 2009"

+1

Don't invite the Mazda 3 guys. Aside from the mazdaspeed 3's, half of the guys will get in the way of the RX cars and the other half have to be towed out of gravel traps

Inviting the 6 and the 3, would put this event out of the scope of a sports car event.
I don't consider the 3 or the 6 a sports car (despite what the figures and laptimes they post i.e. Mazdaspeed 6 around the track)...

I would consider the MX-5/Miata and the RX-8 as sports cars.

heh.. well.. the 416 -> 401 == mind-numbing drive. But either way... mosport should rock.

Bleh.. how are the roads up their right now anyways? I might be heading up over "family day" to visit the folks....

well... in terms of who to invite.. think that's up to Al.. but.. if we get like a mix of like 20 car's between the 7's and 8's... we should be good shouldn't we?

Personally I wanna hear only hornets buzzing around thr track if I had my way

We could always take the 7 down.

Roads/weather in general == shitty... typical Ottawa weather. Started to melt then re-froze so it's chunky uneven ice everywhere. Otherwise it's fine.. I'm sure the highways are clear.

I'm down for a cruise for 5 minutes of track time, if there were a nice 8 convoy going, would definately be a spactacle

ya...for some reason i too like the idea of 7s and 8s only (oh, and i guess MX5s are okay too). I cant explain why, and i know alot of those speed 6s and 3s are fast and everything, but i just see an event like this as being for sports cars. In the end, i dont really care either way though. Its Als event, and im just glad to have been invited regardless of the other cars that might be around (so long as there are a few 8s). Thanks again to you Al for setting this all up. im looking forward to meeting you some day. haha.

DAMN STRAIGHT... I'm gonna be on the track with my Eibach's by May for sure

And of course... a full 9 hour spring detail.. I ******* hate this winter so far, cause it's worse than last year and it's wrecking HAVOC on her... inside and out...

kinda like knowing your loved one is being raped daily...
