And of course... a full 9 hour spring detail.. I ******* hate this winter so far, cause it's worse than last year and it's wrecking HAVOC on her... inside and out...

kinda like knowing your loved one is being raped daily...

Hey at least you are driving her... i get to look at a curvey lump in my garage under a car cover, havent seen my paint colour in 3.5 months. The only benefit is that i dont trash the car over the winters (but it sucks driving a Focus again!!!)

Beater for me next winter. It's not worth the pain seeing her dirty and suffering brings tears to my eyes. So might be summer for lowering mmmmm

So my buddy has a 3 AT he can bring that Don't think those quite fit in. I would say only MS 6 is allowed out side of the RX MX. But hey whatever you like! It will be good regardless. But you know Footman will be riding a 6 or 3's *** the whole way and we will hear some nasty posts after

yeah.. I suppose 7 is always an option. Heard it's a nice drive in the summer... never actually took it though.

Thanks for the info on the roads.. maybe I'll just wait until May.. .

Here is an interesting question:
Ever time we do the lapping the field gets spread out to the point where I catch the back of the pack. Last year I deliberately slowed down up the back straight to group everyone up, then went faster through the twisty part. Would you rather go fast up the back straight and slow through the twisties to gather everyone back up or the way it was last year. My backstraight speed was limited to about 120 - 130kmh to accomplish that. It would be nice if the RX8 club guys would be the "hosts" for the event and keep everyone else organized for the morning etc.

I think everyone likes to punch it has hard as possible on the straights, so fast as we can on the back straight works for me. Maybe switch it up after a few laps, when ppl are more comfortable with such a challenging track?!?! Either or I don't really care.

I fully agree. With the street racing law, I have obviously never got to run my car out at top speed, I wouldn't mind getting up to higher top speeds.

redline in 3rd gear only possible at last year's max speed on the back straight... pace limited

I would like to at least use 4th gear.

The most I have ever got out of a stock 8 up the backstraight was 190kmh, and that was with a good run out of turn 5 and leaving braking REAL LATE into turn 8. The Speed 6 would run about 200. You can safely run an 8 to about 150-160kmh and get it slowed down for turn 8. Truly the last thing we need is someone to overcook the end of the backstraight and go off track, that would be the last luch time lapping ever if that happened.

I have to agree with 01Racing, last time i ran the grand prix track at Mosport I cam out of turn 5 HARD and got my 8 up to about 195kmh but then had to mash the brakes and ride it hard around turn 8.

I wouldnt mind streching my 8's legs on the track, damn street racing law!!

I think the most exciting part is from between after turn 8....and before end of turn 5

the back straight is BORING for our rx8...its fcking slow....

I would bring my Speed3 but I can see why you don't want a none "sports" car that is faster around

Speed6 = Nope too fast
Speed3 = Nope too fast
MX-5 = perfect, it's slower

I'd be more then happy to help out with this bit. I just need a bit more info in terms of time frames and stuff. I'm sure we could organize acouple of events while waiting for the track.. maybe a mini bbq afterward.

lol... footman... care to put on a detailing lesson on "How to make your car so shinney that it blinds people from well over a kilometer away"?

Yeah, I actually want to do that, but I don't know how many people would be interested in showing up? If you see me on the road today, you would be like "Shame on Footman"... cause totally looks like a used crack ***** at the moment..... just all pasty with white stuff.

Chris are you going to set up Mazdaspeed.ca as the "go to" site for this event?

Ahh.. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested. Remember.. it's not just going to be the 8 guys. Plus I'm sure some of the newer guys wouldn't mind seeing some of the stuff you use and the results..

As for the car... I"m the same way.. went to Petro today to get the car washed and the damn thing wouldn't move forward. She's all covered in salty white stuff sstill

Sure.. I guess I could slap together a splash page with some info and stuff... maybe a signup form. heh.. might as well start the day with a cruise to the venue.
