Because of previous years experience, there is no pre registration for this event. It is based on a 1st come 1st serve basis at the track the day of the event.

al are u suggesting that there is a possibility for not everyone being allowed on the track is there really that many people interested in going that someone may end up driving all the way to mosport to find out there isnt room for them? and no way to pre register and guarantee a postion on track?

I have been organizing this event since 2004. Each year about 100 people say they will be there, and because its mothers day, wife wont let them, g/f is pms'ing etc 30% actually show up at the track. I dont think it is fair to let people pre register since its a free event and if they dont show it doesnt matter to them. The people who really want to get out on the track will be there early anyway. If you can suggest a better way, im all ears!

That's what I'm saying... we should allow "voluntary passing" on the BACK STRAIGHT section only by a simple hand wave...
But, the ultimate rule is set by the Al and the organizers at the track. I think 99% they're going to say no; so no passing period at any point in time...
I hope I'm not behind NVX again (sorry, low blow John.. )

Maybe there should be a qualifying lap to place cars quickest to slowest? lol just kidding.
If you really want to drive so hard just sign up for a school or lapping day. I'm sure some people don't want the pressure of having to worry about letting people pass. It can take all of a person's focus just to drive.
I'd be interested in using the lapping time for a ride on my bicycle. Can we swing that Al? I bet I'll still be faster than footman.

dont worry too much. if you look back in the thread there are bunch of people that have the same concern as you (im one of them). im sure everyone will be keepign good distance from the person in front of them, this way you can go whatever speed you want through the turns and just back off a bit on straights so that you can have the room you want. this wont be at full race pace anyways. its just for fun and im sure its gonna be a blast.
