My **** doesn't fit!

Bummer...my very first mod on my RX-8...and I'm having trouble.

I can't get the Petit radio **** to fit. Looking at the two holes, the Petit hole doesn't look large enough, and it's not even the same shape.

I've sent them off a note asking them to send another one on their dime given it was $30. This is been out a while...so not sure why they'd be having issues.

Make sure the metal clip did not stay on the **** stem when you pulled off the factory ****. This was kicking my *** until I realized that.

^^ yup.

(trying very hard not to make a joke about size and problems fitting....)

make sure you line it up properly, push firmly, and it should pop right in.

The jokes are expected...that's why I titled the thread the way I did.

The guys at Petit were pretty responsive...they called me back the same day.

They gave me the following tips:

  1. Try and bring the ring out a bit with a small screw driver. This would allow it to slide over the post easier. (Snicker!) This didn't work for me.
  2. Take an emery board and gently sand down the edge of the post. It's pretty easy to do as it's aluminium. Once that's done, then try and slide it over! This worked...although I'm not sure it's in all the way (snicker again).

It looks cool once it's on. I tried to orient the **** that the rotary apexes point left, right, and down when the radio volume is at 0. I like the orange glow coming from the rotary apexes.
