My New RX-8

I don't have alot of experience reading car prrof reports but it appears fairly clear to me that there were two separate incidents.
Your earlier post about the dealer referring to the "other" car sustaining the larger damage estimate sounds very suspect to me. Once again I would check with car prrof as to how they generate the information on their reports.
But even if the "other" car sustained 5k damage there would be significant damage on the 8. We are not talking about a truck type vehicle that can demolish another car without sustaining a fair amount of damage in the same collision.
But more importantly get the car checked out. What may seem fine today may not be after a year or so. I had a friend that was constantly replacing one tire due to excessive wear because of a bad body repair job.
Anyhow, if it checks out you have nothing to fear and can count all the pennies you saved.

^ Thanks.
I honestly do think it's fine and I'm not all that worried. I'm not convinced that there were two hits for $5k, only one. It went through insurance, why would the guy who leased the car try to hush up the true accident damage? Mazda Canada has better things to do than try to coordinate something like that. I'm saying this partially to stimulate debate? Disagree, please tell me why.

1.) If the repair was less than the estimate, the owner would definitely request the repair shop put the record in.
2.) If the repair cost was not mentioned, it is likely that the repair cost was HIGHER than the estimate.
3.) If the repair cost was not recorded, it's also possible that the repair facility did not have the means / did not want to put in the repair records into the database.

In any case, I suppose if you're confident in your car's quality, then feel safe driving it the way it is right now. I hope the car-proof report that I sent you comes in handy if you decide to take the car in for a repair. Cheers, and enjoy your 8

P.S. You might want to see if your clutch is a bit heavy, as I remember the clutch felt heavier than the other 8's that I tried. (The one @ Ajax Mazda was significantly lighter, though that one needed a new belt)
Also, I remember the engine is quite a bit louder, whether at idle or under load. Just thought you might want to check those out as well...
