...and I'm still peeved.

Seems too many are fearful that they may be charged as "street racers", which involves nothing more than an officer’s discretion and actually doesn’t require anyone to exceed the limit by 50 km/hr…thanks Fantino "street racer" law!

So with all that time on my hands, I ventured over to the MTO website and looked at the stats available, trying to understand what has necessitated this law and its severity. Some findings; 39 people have died on Ontario roads due to alleged street racing incidents in the past 8 years. Yes, that's 39 to many. But in that same period, 7000 people have died on our roads. So street racing is .5% of all driving fatalities vs. other causes like drunk driving (15%) and large truck related deaths (18%).

What a bunch of IDIOTS we are for taking this. But I betcha McGuinty is loving the 2 to 10 million dollars in fines he's collected so far.

Yea there are worse things on the road than street racers. But that's the one that got the most media attention so that's what they acted on
