Im nearing the end of my 3 year warranty.
2005 GT with 55000 km

Bought it used in January it had 44000km.

Previous owner was (dare I say) a woman, found out by a "faux pas" from the dealer when he changed the ownership in the Mazda database

BTW, I called Mazda Canada like 4 months+ ago, gave them all my info and they still hadnt changed it. They are a bunch of morons at the headoffice.

Anyways, she really didint take care of it, has scratches everywhere and major curb rash on all wheels, cracked rear muffler guard, etc... But I paid a good 4 to 5000$ under market price at the time so since Im not a stickler for show room clean cars, and the engine and car itself was in very good shape, I bought it.

I wasnt sure I was going to like this dealership (Gareau Mazda in Montreal) at first as they mis diagnosed or declared some stuff as being "within spec" until I went in the garage with the tech and showed him exactly what I wanted him to check.

If your not in the garage... It almost seems like they fake it.

When I went in a second time, they got it all right plus I asked him to point out the engine mounts to me... hehe made him realise one was completely torn.

Work done in the last 2 weeks (ALL under warranty, FREE)

- 2 rear light gaskets (had one replaced in February, the whole light, and it was already taking in Water) Mechanic didint even verify just took it on my word (it no longer had condensation in them from the weekend)
- Climate Control Unit
- Updated Firmware (though they said I had the latest, but never confirmed the actual firmware #... grr)
- Squeaking clutch pedal (greased for now... I'll wait till it comes back and have them do more work on it)
- Replaced 2 engine mounts (even though only 1 was really torn)
- New front auto headlight leveling sensor + headlight adjustment (though I still find they are pretty low)
- Recall : oil cooler hoses
- Recall : Gas tank shield
- On order : Clutch bearing and they'll replace it for free (I have the standard tranny whine + I have a chirp when tranny is hot, and Mechanic says its Clutch bearing and is going to replace it for free)

I think thats it. Im trying to get everything done before the end of my warranty

This year so far I had replaced the Sparkplugs, put in a K&N drop in filter and did the 48 000KM inspection and maintenance (though that was at another dealership and at this point Im almost doubting they even changed the tranny and diff oil, though the work order says they did).

I think I didint forget anything, if I did I'll come back and adjust it.

Turns out Gareau Mazda in Montreal are doing a great job for me, like every dealership you have to follow things closely and make sure you are there as much as possible. Just dropping the car off wont net you the results you want. But nevertheless, Im happy they are covering everything I want them too.
