I'd believe it. I hit 24 mpg on a pure highway tank and I know I'm running rich.
I can totally relate... can't wait for this snow to go away. Who the hell decided this would be a good place for a country anyways?

Something real funny to add to this. I was watching "Horsepower TV" on Spike yesterday morning and on comes this ad "Want to replace your LS1 ignition coils with real power and longevity? MSD has what you need ............" So MSD makes replacement coils for GM coils that fail and dont have enough output. Now thats funny!

Guys I was just making fun of the whole thing, please dont take it personally. The show I was watching was one of the upgrade shows and the car was 1992 5.0 Mustang. I happen to have a 5.0 Mustang, owned it for the last 22 years. Their mods were hilarious to say the least. They upgraded the 17 year old coil and distributor with some after market one and got 5 more rwhp. Ya think if they put new Ford parts in they would have got the same? It went on and on from there.

In the case of Accel repainting the Yukon coils, it is really a play on words and applications. What they SAY is true. What they are counting on are improper inferences from those who read their literature.

What Accel is doing is selling the repainted Yukon coil under the guise that it is an Accel performance upgrade coil for the LS-2 coil when it is actually a readily available coil from GM, themselves. Technically, putting the Yukon coil on an LS-2 IS a performance upgrade. Just not one available EXCLUSIVELY from Accel. Take a look in the Summit catalog and see if you don't interpret it as I do.

wont this thread just die already? lol. alnielson, the LS1 coil didnt just stop working. the guy said he probably killed it. he said there were wires all over the place and he could have easily shorted it out. anyways, al, isnt it funny how life works like that. you see a comercial for something like that at just the most relevant time eh.

Well guys, I changed out my coils (OEM), put in some fresh plugs and got the racing beat plug wires and I couldn't be happier. It seriously feels like a new engine........ which means I was due for these replacements. Engine is much smoother, and I noticed the difference just from the sound when I started up.
Took her for a drive and it feels a lot better in the low rpm range and the top.

hey guys sorry to start this up again but I had a small hickup today. I have new coils, plugs and wires as i said be fore. today I went for a drive and pushed the car hard from a stop sign getting up to speed, at the redline i got a flashing check engine light. I checked it with my scanner and it was a p0302 (second "rotor I assume" Misfire)
Now I've had a p0456 code (verry small EVAP leak) for a while and I'm ordering a new gas cap which i hope will fix the problem. I cleared the code a drove it a bit for a while and I havn't seen the code again.
Should i be very worried. I know i installed everything correctly and the car sounds and runs better..... any thoughts ??

i never take my car up to redline until its been at operating temp for a while actually. sort of why my 5 min drive to work takes me 15. lol. my car would missfire up really high if it was even 2 lines before operating temp. i dont know if its better now that i did coils, but i dont make a habbit of beating on it until its fully warm and has been that way for a bit. better safe than sorry IMO.
