New 8 owner in the Peg

I picked the car up yesterday, A 40th Anniversary Edition.

Finally after selling my first gen RX-7 in 1988, I have a rotary again.

Haven't had much of a change to drive it but so far my impression is wow...

Gerry Gordon's also has one but Gerry himself is driving it. Since I was buying new, I wanted to be the first to drive it, so I bought the one at Destination.

First fill

I just reached 190km of driving distance, gas gauge was a tad above the 1/2 mark and I was 2 blocks from home, passing my favorite Shell station.

I stopped in and filled her up...

26.349 Liters, or

13.8 L/100km or

20.5 MPG (UK) or

17.1 MPG (US)

I like UK better... lol

This 190 km's represents a typical drive, about 80% highway, 20% city.

To be honest, I'm not disappointed, the engine has a long way to go before its broke in and I am sure the mileage will only get better once that happens.

Congrat! on your new 8. I checked out Gerry's car before he got a chance to drive it, somehow I'm not too attracted to the special edition or the facelifted model. However, I don't mind having the Blistein suspensions and Recaro seats. Don't get me wrong, I still like the 8 cos I own a 2007 CPW 8. Anyway, may be we'll meet up at autox, club meet or cruise night.

My edition does not come with Recaro seats, but I did get the Bilsteins.

The seats will be available in 09 on the R1 model.

We are having a meet Sat., April 12th 3:30pm Assiniboine Zoo parking lot...

hope to see you there.
