New buyer

just a quick question
if im looking for a used like 04,05,06 whatever it may be, what amount of kms should i be looking for. i know things i should be looking for such as quick start, idol and replacement of coils, sparkplugs, and wires and take it for a compression test, but what should the maximum amount of kms i should look for?
i dont want to spend more then 13 on this car and that is kind of pushing it.

thanks for your help

why don't you go on auto trader and see what they're going for? at 13 on the road, your not going to find an 8 with less then 100K

FERA, I recommend that you should come out in whatever you drive to one of the rx8 meets at Woodbine/16th to talk to any one of us face-to-face.

Before I bought the car, I did that, and rolled out to a Dave&Busters meet in my Civic. For the first time, I met Darkbrew, Agent008, NEO and a few others. I asked questions about the car as a potential buyer.

It'll make yourself look a lot more credible and you'll get a lot more answers than you want; rather than just puttering around with random questions here on the forum.

Don't feel intimidated, we're all very nice people in person.

With regards to your budget... you'll find a steal if you hold out a little longer. Once it gets colder and the threat of winter looms over you'll find much better prices.

We're noticing at the auctions that wholesale prices for these 8's are just plummeting (i.e. in the past week, 06's with maybe just above 100kms are going for well below 10 thousand wholesale... should translate to just a touch over 10 thousand retail).

i am going to wait until winter blows over probably start looking around march april?
especially with the decreased engine failures in the 06's i think they might be my best bet

So RXeckless you got "Upgraded Factory Suspension (Shinka)"???

Do you have any problem swapping the stock shocks vs the OEM bilstein HDs when you do the change? or its stock comes with your car?

Thanks!

Came with it when I bought it, but if I sell the 8 I'll be replacing the 7's with coil-overs and better sways to help keep that rear-end planted. At least I hope it will help!

hahaha yeah.. I drive her year-round, so prepare to see her in "less than shiny" state this winter if we get a lot of snow storms.

Why are you looking at 8s, if your not going to buy till next year? Seems like wasted time.
