New (to me) RX8
Hey all
Just picked up my new-ish work car, just happens to be a 2004 rx8 /w 43000kms, gotta love tax write offs
Soo far all I can say is wow, these things are slippery.
Also I'd like to know what kinda of mods most people found effective, since there really isn't much to do to the rotary.
Also maybe any tips for a new owner, aside from the constant oil monitoring and letting the car warm up properly so as to avoid flooding....

don't ask if it'll beat a (insert any car here) in a quarter mile, and um, use the search.
mods found most effective: S/C (but haven't been released yet) and turbo (prefer a mazport, greddy for our car isn't as great).

yea the whole high revving played a big role in my purchase decision, i think thats what killed my tercel hhaa (good riddance)
Also I have an ae86 Farm of sorts and the 4age was my first experience with a high reving, small displacement engine. Altho, the 8 definately takes the cake in that department.

tercel is a great car, im looking to buy one this summer for a dd.
the 8 will not take as much liking to modding, much like the s2000, as its the upper level of what it can to with the current emissions laws. best things would be a header, ported intake, and a underdrive pulley. intake and exaust are pretty good, the ony thing you can really do is shave the weight off as the exaust is very heavy.

Tercel sucks, 3ee is the worst engine toyota ever made. Valve seals are a regular mantenance item for this car, and when the rings get clogged with carbon, time for a new engine or a rebuild. Do yourself a favour and get a 6th or7th gen corolla, cheap mantenance and mileage.
