New owner of a 2005 RX8
Hey guys just wanted to get some advice.
I just recently bought a 2005 RX8 with 113,000km on it at an auction and was wondering what you guys think I should be doing/checking on it.
i have been told to change the oil,transmission and differential fluids.
The last oil change that was done on the car says 2018 on the windshield haha.

That's great news, assuming the mechanic knows rotaries, which is... uncommon. Read and fully understand the site I linked to keep it running like a top. They're not difficult cars, but there are a few things you can't compromise on. Ignition components, cat, spirited driving. It's all explained there.

I just bought my first RX8 recently too, I have done the oil change at the dealer, Now running seafoam in oil and fuel (can be a bit risky, but I bought an RX8, I am a risk taker) to hopefully clean some carbon and then switching to Amsoil XL 10w-40 full synthetic engine oil. Amsoil interceptor 2-stroke oil for premixing in the fuel tank. I have changed the transmission oil to Redline MT-90. Differential oil is now Amsoil 75w-90 severe gear oil. Straightened the oil cooler fins. Although my car starts pretty quickly with hot or cold engine, I am getting BHR coils and MSD plug wires. I am going to check the plugs. Battery is new. Next on the list are the following;
1. Decat. I have learned that rotaries were never intended to work with catalytic converters, they are a problem area.
2. high flow custom exhaust manifold as per Team RX8 design.
3. Mishimoto 76C coolant thermostat
4. Oil cooler protection grills.
5. May be fabricate oil cooler fan kit.
6. Lower temp oil cooler thermostats.
7. AEM intake.
8. Replace all coolant hoses.
This is what my car look like right now.
Both bumpers, all fender plastics, front under carriage plastics and oil pan protection tray is off for clean up. Also rear license plate holders fell and are rusted so had to take the rear bumper off to fix the problem.

Looking good buddy I got my safety done and it passed with a minor hvac door switching promblem cost me $300 for the part.
But for the price I picked her up and the sound of the engine and rims it comes with it. I think I got a pretty good deal.

I'm thinking of buying a compression tester to see how tip top my engine is.
does anyone know what's a good range they should be at when I do the test?
