New RX8 Owner
Hello everybody;
My name is Daniela and just got my 8 last week, it's a 2005 GS 6MT Sunlight Silver with 45,000 kms.
I'm from Montreal, Quebec and hoping to get lots of info on this site. Would like to change my mags this summer to some 19's (any suggestions?).
I really love the looks of this car and the I'm starting to get "along" with it .
Thank you and great site here!!

Extraordinary Engineering
Welcome to the club, Dani and congrats on your 8!
I recommend reading through the stickies at the top of each forum and using the search function to find the information you want. Also try to attend some of the local meets!
Good luck and enjoy the new car!

If looks are what you are after, make sure you drop your 8. Personally, I think the Tien S Techs springs offer the perfect drop at 1.4 inches at the front and half that at the rear. For some reason, 8's have more gap at the front than the rear and the S Techs fix this.
Next step is to get some 18's with an aggressive offset, so they sit flush. And please don't go staggered, as it makes no sense to do this with our 8's. I am going with 18x9.5's all around with a 38 offset. Throw some sticky 245/40's on rims like that and it will look great.
And if you are not aware, as a stick lover, get an AFE short shifter for the perfect shift feel-- size matters but in this case shorter is better

Thanks
Excellent! In terms of 19's I wouldn't recommend it personally. Adds $'s to your purchase and does not provide any real benefit. In fact, it will make your ride unnecessarily harsher and wheels heavier (not a good thing when it comes to handling).

I'll keep your suggestions in mind!
As for suspension, I was thinking on some coilovers so I can bring the 8 down for summer time and back up for the winter.

Bonjour Daniela
