It's right next to the Pitt Meadows airport:

http://www.bcdrivingcentre.com/map.php

And you will turn left and through the following gate and continue down to the pit area:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=pitt+me...207.07,,0,7.05

First car is out at 9:30 AM and we are done by 4 PM. Loaner helmets are available for getting ride alongs.

Hello nabatron and bentiac,

I am the one who signed up for the auto-x. What time are guys arriving? I wish to catch some "z". Do I need to be at Pitt Meadows by 9:30am?

Thanks for the clarification.

Be there by 8:30. You need to do reg and walk the course... before getting on the grid.

See you tomorrow

Fun day at the pad yesterday... wet surface with lots of puddles so more of a subaru day than a RWD day. Vincent came out and I think he had fun... improved his time 10 sec through out the day... nice job considering it was a very competitive event. Here are the results:

http://forum.ubcscc.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4345

You want to look at the index time for the final standings.

Vincent, have a look at the following links before your next event so you have a better idea how events are run, classifications, techniques, etc.

UBCSCC - Race Day

Thanks for all the info Ben. Despite the rain, I had load of fun! Both you and Norm can make the RX-8 flies. I can feel the G-forces riding with you. Nice to know our cars can have the potential to do really sharp cornering.

I will review the tips before the next event. Thanks again.

If you liked feeling the g-force on all season tires in the rain, you will definitely enjoy the spine jolting G-force on a dry day with 285 Hoosiers. Our cars have good mechanical grip due to their good weight distribution. The suspension is a little too soft and body roll is a little too much but compared to other stock cars, it has a lot of potential. With a good aggressive alignment and a set of good tires, you can have mechanical and tire grip that sends you to heaven every time you turn the wheel.

They say autocross is 70% driver 25% tires and only 5% the car. The single most important part of the whole suspension system is THE TIRE. Tires are absolutely, positively, THE most dominant part of the suspension. Being on the right tire for the job at hand will buy you more time than any single other suspension improvement, and in terms of autocrossing (and road racing, to a point) tires buy you more time than anything outside of more seat time - PERIOD.

That's been said, I don't recommend you going out and buying better tires just yet. Good tires mask driver mistakes and make learning a longer process. I mainly suck at autocross because of that. I have been driving on r-compound tires for a long time but being fast on street tires in the rain like Norm is the real art.

How comes you are upgrading the coils? Have you got a TC / SC or perhaps Nitrous?

Just got new plugs because old one where full of carbon (one wasn't even lighting) so paranoid coils are bad. Just going to do it to avoid future issues. Only 30k too.....

Mazda looked at the coils and said they were okay, but heard there QC on the coils is really bad. Almost any coil will be 'good'.

I might have to take you up on that... will probably be ordering this week and expect arrival around the start of May (according to BHR thread)
