Newbie Question: Trim Levels in Canada

Hey Guys,

I'm an Rx8 newbie, though I've owned my FB for years now and have racked up a few thousand posts over at rx7club.com so I've definitely got the "basics" of owning a rotary car.

That being said, I'm buying a 2004 Rx8 GT (or at least that's what my purchase papers say) and it's my first real intro to the Rx8.

Search as I might, I can't find the differences between trim levels for the '04 model, and specifically can't find them for Canada. I already found out that while Tire Pressure Monitoring is standard on all US trim levels, my car doesn't have it (which is a good thing in my opinion, makes the swap from summer to winter tires/rims easier).

So does anybody know where I can find the differences between the GS, GT models in Canada for the 2004 model year?

Jon

GS is base, no sunroof, cloth seats (non power), no xenons. everything else is an option IIRC (bose sound system etc).

GT comes with the sunroof, leather seats, power drivers seat (i think they are all heated as well) and xenons.

thats basically it from what ive gathered so far.

What audio options are available on the different trim levels?

One is basic, 4 speaker audio system, believe you can still pick the deck you want single cd (default), 6 disc, or mp3. GT Bose system 9 speakers with amp single Cd (default), 6 disc or mp3

I think all Canadian GT's came with the Bose and the 6-disc changer as standard, not the single CD. You also get headlight washers which the Yanks don't have (in place of their TPS).

You also get fewer colour options on the interiors, I think, than they got down south.

That about sums it up - beware of US spec cars, they have a few lower level trims, with smaller wheels (and brakes) and halogens in place of HIDs. Canuck spec is pretty well equipped.

GS canuck specs have halogens. i know, mine has them. ive seen others as well.

as fro the smaller wheels, i think base models with auto trannies had a 16" wheel. the brakes are obviously smaller on those cars.
