No BEEP at redline
#26
oh, i only noticed this becaused my speed became limited for a seconed or to ntill after i shifted, and at that point i had looked at the meeter and seen that it had hit 10k rpms.. but in any case can hitting high rpms and redlining hurt our 8's in anyway??

No, there's not going to be anything you'll do on the street RPM wise that is going to cause any engine damage. The rotary is designed for sustained high RPM runs. This is one of the primary advantages over piston motors.
The situation might change on the race track where some drivers maintain high RPM's for a long periods of time. On the street, however, I doubt there will be any behavior that will cause engine damage.

okay, thanks for the very useful info!! but one more thing, is redlining not for long periods of time but lets say, i redline every gear and then i let my car cool down for a couple of lights then i go on and do it again would that harm our 8's??

^ no, but that is like doing 1/4mile over and over, which is hard on other parts, tranny, clutch etc. The engine is fine with it, but hard pulls like that over and over are not the easiest on cars.
The 8 will run all day at high rpm on a race track and it is less wear on the internals than say 1/4mile runs over and over.
8's have weak transmissions, so don't be jerking the hell out of it changing gears when you are in the high rpm. Smooth = good!

When you click on the round spindle that allows you to change the bass, tremble, etc, there is one section that says beep. You can change that to on and off, so may that is the problem, turn that on?
Just my idea, no sure if its correct or not

to ease footman's frustrations... I will direct you all to go to your glove box and look at this thing called a manual (that's right.. RTFM). There you will find the answer to all of your buzzer and light related questions.
