This is why the manufacturers have a hard time with cars... especially rotaries... You never know when you'll need that extra bit of power... and when you run on lower than recommended fuel... well, you know what happens...

Oh man that just shattered the image of 8 drivers the world over :p
I don't get these people, they are quibling over like what $40-50 more a month, if even that, the difference between regular and premium, just don't eat out once a month and you're done.. sheesh.

You mean you guys AREN'T middle-aged women that drive 8's? That means I'm hanging on the wrong board!
Yea seriously, that's what I've been saying ... drink less pop and coffee and that'll be difference! Plus you lose weight and that'll mean your 8 will have to lug less of you!

totally whacked out reporting.
Driver is losing out because I have found driving across the nation- and she was driving 2 hours a day- she likely drove some mileage- she is not getting the advantage of the higher octane.
I posted a review of my mileage driving across both Canada and the U.S. using Hi test and low grade gas, US and Canadian gas.
Canadian gas superior to US, and Premium paid for itself by giving me range.

Now, I could see the difference in my Expedition with regular vs. prem, but that tank is like 90 liters! Yes, 90 liters times 10 - 15 cents a liter is $9.00 to $13.50 is about the savings she was talking about.
Again I see an improvement in mileage with it as I got another 75K-100 (475K vs 550K-575K) out of a tank with prem...thats a 20% improvement in range with a corresponding price increase. Why not have the better gas in the tank? Going cheap does not pay in most cases, but especially not in the RX8.
