Depends on the when and where.
I don't know if any other N.S. people, besides Redshift, ever check this forum.

I know there are a few in Halifax now, and there is a Ti up here, and another in or around Truro (and there used to be a red up here, but I don't know what ever happened to it...)...I imagine there are a few others in floating around, but it's still a pretty rare car to see out here.

Yeah, Jasper and I seem to be the only representatives.

I know some people on the local import car forum (which are mostly a bunch of kids, to be honest) are playing with the idea of an RX-7 gathering.
Worst comes to worst, we could try to expand things out to a general Nova Scotia Rotary meet...

NS Meet

Hi

I have seen at least 5 rx-8 around metro in the last few months.
We just need to get them on here to arrange a meet.

Pt Pleasent Park seems to be the local car club hot spot.

Did you have something a little more specific in mind?
(i.e. a specific date/time or something?)
Ideally, you should make up some cards and give them out to other cars you see, put them under wipers etc.

For a variety of reasons, I'm somewhat averse to Point Pleasant Park, but might be willing.

Another in NS

Well I guess I don't get our much, I have a black 04 and am from Antigonish. I have only seen one other 8 on the road and that was a red in the Truro area last fall. It is nice to know there are some others in NS who read this forum. The forum has been a great source of information.

Hi

I'll make up some cards with links to this forum.

I tend to see the yellow with shiny rims and 2 blacks every week here in Dartmouth.

If i can find them while stoped i'll get them.

Another popular location is the Chicken Burger in Bedford!

Also if we have 8's from outside metro we could try Truro or New Gasgow.

Black 2004 RX8 GT in Halifax

Hi everyone,
I have only owned mine for 3 months but now that I have my summer sneakers on her, I think a get-together would be great but why not show those bikers that hang out at Perks on Thursday nights what cruising really entails?! Too much bird poop at Point Pleasant Park although the photo ops are probably pretty good. Perhaps a ride out towards Chebucto Head?

Well, Jasper is the RX-8 in New Glasgow (there are only 2) so I think we are covered there.

As for the yellow one, I know of him. He lives out near me in Dartmouth, plus I also work at Purdy's Wharf. (I've got the Blue one in the parking garage there.)

There is also a Titanium Automatic owned by the people who run the Tim Horton's by the Canadian Tire in Cole Harbour. I've talked to them a few times.

If you wanted to do up some cards/plan an event, get me some and I'd be happy to give them out.

Probably put the word out through Steele Mazda as well. (Last time I tried to put something together City shot me down, so screw'em now...)

AC fix

Also.

I have an appointment at Steele on Wed to get my AC booster installed.

I told them about the AC not being very cool when i got my first oil change a few weeks back.

Although i got my 8 at City Mazda i get service at steele its closer and I like the feel of the place.

Anyone else get there AC looked at?

Purdys Wharf..

I have the black one often parked out in front of Tower II.
I am driving to Toronto on Wednesday for a 2 week business trip.
As for the get together, if it can wait until I get back, I'd be happy to do something there.

A/C fix

I've only had mine for three months so I haven't really had the chance to see if it works properly. Is the AC booster a service bulletin??

AC issue

Yea it is.

They looked it up on the system when i took it in for survice.

They ordered the part for me at that time.

They also did the latest PCM flash update for me at that time.
Just took my Masda letter in about the cold start.

I don't know of a link to canadian Bulletins but this will keep you up on whats out there.

I am legendary for going in to Steele with a stack of Serivce Bulletins. In fact, I now go in to talk to Jason a few weeks before with the bulletins so that they will have the parts.

Rays8: I had the booster installed shortly after the bulletin came out.

As for service, I wouldn't let City check the oil level in my car, never mind change it. As for anything more involved, I shudder that the thought.

RX8NS: Yes, it is a service bulletin. Depending on when your car was built, it may not apply to you. Check out:

http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ins_index.html to see them all.

I have seen your car parked outside a number of times while I was going places. There are 3 of us down here, but I seem to be the only one that parks in the parking garage.

That would do it.
Don't you guys spend more on parking tickets being out there then the cost of a pass? Well, probably not or else you would park in the garage I suppose.

As for the Blue, I love it. I'm really glad I ordered that.. I was nervous as it was sight-unseen, but it's turned out to be my favourite colour.
I'm surprised it is such a rare colour down here. There are only 3 Blue ones in Atlantic Canada that I know of.

The other blue 6-speed GT that went through Steele and a Blue auto that went through Mills.

There's a blue sitting at Target that's been there since late last summer (I believe Mazda Canada forced them to take it even though it's almost impossible to sell them here.)
They now have it on sale for 34,900, down from 41,900 (moonroof and side bits) to try to get it out of the show room, and it's still just sitting there.
I really don't get the whole mentality around here. They can spend 60k on a truck, but if you spend 40k on a sporty car, you must "have more money than you know what to do with"......

Don't see many blue 8's around here.

Saw 1 last year in halifax, none so far this year.

Why are blue so rare?

Jasper: Damn, if it's down to that cheap in an effort to move it, that puts a bit of a damper on me trying to sell my car then.

Rays8: If you saw a blue one in Halifax last summer, chances are it was me. Did you notice what colour the wheels were?
As for why is Blue so rare down here, I really have no idea.
I know it was rare at first (thus the reason I had the only pre-ordered blue one in Atlantic Canada) because nobody knew what it would look like. There were no clear pictures of the car in blue in any of the pre-shipping marketing materials.
As for why it is still rare, I have no idea. Doesn't bother me too much however.

Well, I definately wouldn't try selling it in New Glasgow......

You might have better luck in Halifax.

I've still never seen another silver in N.S. I know 3 or 4 came in with the first shipment, but I don't know where they all went.

No, I'll cross off New Glasgow as a potential sales zone.

As for the Silver, I've noticed that too. A bunch came in the first order, and probably 1/3 of the stock I've seen go through Steele has been Silver as well (the rest being Titanium and Black.. only 1 other Blue and a couple of Red.)
But, I never see Silver anywhere. I see Black and Titanium a fair bit, but no silver. Well, plus that damn yellow one that haunts me....

Sightings...

Hi guys, I made it to Toronto for about 3 trillion dollars in gas but it was at least comfortable. Oh yeah, and a speeding ticket in Quebec.

I saw you leaving in your blue 8 at the garage at Purdys. The wheels look great...I think they'd look good on my black.

I have seen a silver one parked in the garage at the Medical building on ????(I'll be damned if I can remember the name of the street) Behind the Sobey's on Queen Street in the south end.

There is a yellow one with chromed wheels about town as well.

Glad to hear you made it. Hope you get AeroPlan points or something on your credit card for all that gas.

As for the wheels on the blue, that would be me. I love them. Look great on the car, and are not flashy (I'm not a big fan of flashy.) Plus, I find the darker wheels really seem to help...er.. slim (?) the lines on the side of the car.

As for yours, the antracite would look ok, but the best match for a black car would be a dark bronze.
