OMG, I'm so friggin jealous you guys are all up there right now and I'm at home, sick and doing a bunch of schoolwork (on a Saturday!). Also my idle is running low and still have my winter rims/tires on. Argh!

Please have another one later this summer. I want to see Joe and Dan again and maybe do some installs. All you guys, rock this meet and post pics. I'm down for the next one for sure.

Believe everyone was able to make it on that list, hard to say from the 7s, since I havent really met them all and know their usernames. Spd frk, Agent 008, rx smooth, and rotor whee werent able to make it out from the 8 club. Nonetheless a lot of rotarties did arrive, and it was awesome. I felt like the meet was offical made whenever I heard the engines revving. Not to mention the sound off between the engine revs.

Thanks to Geck69/Justin from Kingston to making the trip out. Great meeting you, hopefully you can help me with my lotek pod. It was great meeting millcham, and rx8thunder, man you bought a lot of stuff today, hope you enjoy it all. The mod bug seriously caught you, first it feasted on zerobio, and now you. Kris, the rims look badass, like the drag set up, once again the sound system is ridiculous. Footman, Natalia is back eh, sweet! Qwtre, I like the budget, haha, j/k. I do like the cobalt pads, very baddass. BrianGT, sweet rims man, love the stance on your 8 man. Darkbrew, lets hear some reviews about the suspension man. It was great meeting the regulars again, and the new people. RPM was working all day, thanks to their inhouse chef. Awesome bbq guys. I was actually stuffed. Once again thanks to everyone for pitching in to help out with the budget.

The day started with proficentone picking me up, and then we met up with millcham at hwy 7 and woodbine, shell station, where we also met our JDM 7 member, drezjdmrx7 . Took 404 down to the Fairview, made a pit stop at Sunoco to fuel up.

Kris, that was some scary *** **** for all of us on the shoulder on the 401 today. I never knew standing on the outside with cars going at 130+ less than 10 feet away from you was that scary!!!

I hope you're car will be alright. I believe most of us suffered some suspension damage on the drive back. Though the damages cannot be easily visible/felt... but it's done for sure....

ESPECIALLY given the fact that we were returning to Toronto at certain triple digit speeds consistently!!!!

The two lead cars, you guys are crazy.. the red FD, and Proficientone.

im happy its not cracked, its a bend on the inside of the wheel, shouldnt be more than 100-120 to get it straightened and back like new again...

I think my camber in the rear saved me from denting the outside edge, if i bent the outside of the wheel i would have to get the entire wheel refinished... but since its on the insde it should be an easy fix.

And off we went to meet our Sauga boys, Kris, Qwtre and rx8thunder. And then off we went to Kitchener, managed to get one pick here.

Next stop, Costco as we pulled into the town of Breslau. Gotta grab the grub.

Gotta say, that was the funniest **** in the Costco guys. Proficientone and his bike riding. Neo, having to get us back on track, lol.

In the mean time, SOME INTERESTING INSTALLS OF THE DAY!

What a great day it was. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you guys. I really appreciated the advice and quick spins, to check out the sound of various mufflers and CAI's.

Jay/Prospectjtaz, thanks for organizing the day and getting RPM involved. These kind of events are such a win win for everyone involved. I hope that you're loving those new brakes of yours BTW, they're hot!

Well, I planned to stand back and just watch others do stuff top their cars this event but somehow it didn't work out that way I just couldn't resist that package deal for the Tokico D-Specs and Tien S-tech's Oh and let's not forgot the MS CAI -- the seller of this part was just too good, I couldn't say no

The suspension stuff was installed but RPM put off the installation of the CAI until I go back there in a couple of weeks -- disappointing but it was getting late, so I understand.

So, first impressions of new suspension?

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love the drop that the S-Tech's gives. With the front about 1.4" lower, it's just enough to make me feel more connected to the road. It looks pretty hot too...

On the highway, it felt like I was more hunkered down. I felt more in control, more confident. Not sure if this is driven by the struts, coils or lower stance in the front (aerodynamic impact?) or a combination of all the above.

On the corners, I still have some roll - need to upgrade sway bars - but there is not as much as before. Critically, I feel that I can much more easily toss the car around corners in a way I couldn't before. This suspension really inspires a sense of confidence that causes me to push the car hard and not fear losing control -- I can only imagine how much better it will be on the track.

One of the other areas I was looking for improvement in was lunging/ squatting. I found the OEM suspension a tad too bouncy. Happy to report that the new suspension solves this problem.

The last thing is about road feel. I like to be able to feel imperfections in the road, not in a jarring way but in a way that is communicative. I am pretty happy with the result in this respect but may want to play around more with the firmness settings of the D specs - have them at 3 at the moment.

Meet enabled me to make a BIG decision - which exhaust to go with. And the winner is... MazdaSpeed. They all sounded great but I feel that MS is right for me.

So when is the next meet

Scott

The ride back was interesting, we split into two groups, Footman, Kris Qwtre and Me, Proficientone +1, and drezjdmrx7. Footman went on his search for Shell, and finally met back with us at 7 11. Qwtre and Kris got tired and ditched him lol.

So we got on the 401, Qwtre gives me a call, says he saw Kris pull to the shoulder by Winston Churchill, so I said I'll check it out. Texted Proficientone and Footman on the drive, in between calls to Neo and Joe. And there we saw him, Kris on the side. Pulled over, and an crazy day, got even crazier.

Summay:
Kris pulled over since he felt his wheels rumbling. Found a flat on his rear passenger tire. We arrived. Told him not to use the gunk in the Emergency Flat Kit, or there goes the tire. Suggested he pump it back up, get off the ramp and take care. He called CAA. The smarties arrived with a tow truck not a flat bed. GREAT!!! Since the 8 is rear wheel, the pick up would need to reverse in, and then when it pulled out, pull a U turn, against incoming traffic. Brilliant Guys. However another tow came, they decided to block the lane, so it would be safe to jack and change the rim to the spare, that our JDM 7 bro had. We got shooed away, cause the people on the 401 had called the OPP. Thanks, lol.

Scott, I'm so jealous. your car and mine will be twins, as I've decided on the MS dual-can exhaust also, and I'm going for S-tech's. Though I'm poorer than you, so I can't get adjustable shocks

Glad you enjoyed the mmet rx8thunder, great meeting you too. Thats what this meet as all about. No better place to come and see what is avalaible for the car than a meet. Not to mention test driving and seeing in person. The 8 community is great since everyone's different tastes means different products on their cars. Just creats a win win, letting a newcomer see what there is and deciding on whats really for them. Thanks again to RPM for letting us have this meet, Joe and his mechanic buddies working all day on our cars. Their inhouse chef, superb menu once again sir. Gecko, thanks for the Keiths, got everyone relaxed after that trek through the tertirous lanes of the 401, sadly which took one of us on the way back. We'll get em back Kris!

Oh an rx8thunder, the breaks are great, the stainless lines, really mean no more slush, but I am really looking forward to the feel after I get the master cyclinder support in.
