The Official why Ontario sucks *** thread
I hate this Province and I believe I'm not alone.
I've have basically lived in this Province for my entire life. However my career of the last 10 years has allowed me to experience many other places, in Canada and abroad. So it is not without knowledge and experience that I can confidently start this thread and say, 'this Province SUCKS ***!'
At this point you maybe saying to yourself, get the hell out of here then! Well dammit, I would love too! Let's just say I have a plan but my current commitments (family and professional, well more family) aren't about to get up and move.
Anyways there are certain things about this Province that really **** me off compared to other Provinces in Canada.
I wanna see how many things we can come up with, and it doesn't just have to include motor vehicle related items.
1. Front License Plates required in Ont, I believe that there are only 5 Provinces that require front plates. Not required in Alberta
2. The Street Racing Bill (Bill 203), N2O illegal in Ontario.
3. The Beer Store required in Ontario, I'm not sure how many Provinces allow the purchase of beer in corner stores? Alberta?
4. Radar Detectors illegal in Ont, Legal in Alberta

I've lived in Ontario most of my life, mostly Ottawa but recently 17 years in London. When I was in my teens/20's, I also lived in Calgary and a few years in Quebec. Calgary was a dangerous city back in the 70's and so was Hull, Quebec. Can't say how they are today but I felt much safer in Ontario ... so for that reason I will say, I much prefer Ontario to the others. Downtown Ottawa is becoming like downtown Toronto, to some extent, so I wouldn't say I'd enjoy Ottawa as much as London. But in my opinion, I still prefer Ontario to the other provinces I have lived in.
I've never used a radar detector and imagine allowing it's use in Ontario would encourage bad driving. I'd like to see the speed limit increased on the 400-series highways. But I wouldn't advocate for the use of detectors here so that's not an issue for me. I've always had plates on the front and back so I can't imagine not having to have a front plate. Might be nice to ditch that but it sure wouldn't make me like/dislike my home province more. I have no intention of using no2 so that doesn't make me dislike Ontario more. When I lived in Quebec, beer was available at all corner stores. It was convenient but there were more violent crimes there. I'm fine with more control over alcohol and easy to pick it up at the actual beer store/LCBO.
So I like Ontario just fine.

LOL Okay well said zerobio
But this isn't the official why Ontario doesn't suck *** thread.
Maybe I should start one of those too?
I should have had a poll asking if Ontario sucks *** Yes or No
Sounds like you love the protection of the Government Zerobio, perhaps Russia or China might fit you better. I suppose we are not far off if we keep voting these darn Liberals in.
Zerobio I challenge you to start the Why Ontario doesn't suck thread, then never the twain shall meet

It's always greener over the other side of the fence. Ont. is not one of them. Hhahaahaha.... j/k. I happen to like Toronto proper. Not suburbs though. It's getting too congested.

can't say i've been to alberta...but i know i definitly prefer toronto over montreal. montreal to me is just a party town, its noisy, conjested...and mostly drunk. A great place to visit or live in if you're a student looking to shack up with broads...not to live in.
Some of the rural areas in quebec are nice tho.

After today's snowfall, and despite what I posted above ... I am switching my vote to say Ontario sucks because of winter. First winter driving the 8, good snowtires. I survived but think I'm going to need more weight in the back (ie. sand/salt bags). I'll do some reading here to see how many of you add extra weight and if I can't find much, I might post a thread about that.
Winter sucks, Ontario ... it's just caught in the middle.

Don't you buy salt for your walkway/driveway/sidewalk? The brand of salt that is popular is Windsor

I don't think more weight in the back will make much difference.
It is a sports car after all, you can't make it drive like a tank on the slippery stuff. Go slow, practice more when you can, and be safe is about everything you can do. 195/205 tires would help, but you have your snowtires already.
