Oh one more. Likely a GTA problem.... but why are people there mad-rushing towards the gas station whenver the price drops 5 cents? I've personally seen and experienced gas-station rage. real scary stuff. The line-ups can often spill onto streets too.
It's chaotic. I rather pay the extra cents just to avoid this type of mentality.

Yea I was waiting in line once and I didn't stop right in front of the car at the pump so he had room to leave....some asswipe starts moving towards the pump when I was clearly next...I end up getting the pump and the guy starts yelling telling me he's gonna kick my ***...of course he was driving a pick up and wearing a wifebeater His wife (I think it was a woman) was so embarrassed and was telling him to get back in the truck.

^ i remember this is a frequent occurrence in Mississauga too. When I used to live there, I made a point to just go to the station after 8pm. Too much pent-up commuter anger stuffed at a location filled with combustible substance is highly dangerous.

It is a sports car after all, you can't make it drive like a tank on the slippery stuff. Go slow, practice more when you can, and be safe is about everything you can do. 195/205 tires would help, but you have your snowtires already.
Thanks Renesis_8. After reading all the threads I could find, I'm now decided NOT to add weight. Next year I will probably get 17" tires.

Yeah, 17s should be the tire of choice for the RX-8 in winter. However I was impressed with the job the snowplows did recently. Cleared the streets pretty quick, at least where I live.

I should have had a poll asking if Ontario sucks *** Yes or No

Sounds like you love the protection of the Government Zerobio, perhaps Russia or China might fit you better. I suppose we are not far off if we keep voting these darn Liberals in.

Zerobio I challenge you to start the Why Ontario doesn't suck thread, then never the twain shall meet
Just FYI, Russian has one of the lowest male life expectancy and the Canadian government and Ontario provincial government offer more PROTECTION for their citizen than China ever will have.

Your cold-war era joke doesn't fly man.

Strange to all your "speed hating" comment since I'd rather COPs catch all the laughing gas + streetracers on the street.

Afterall, my rx8 is slower than most V6 Camcoords so I never street race in public (you never win on straightlin race unless you use da laughing gas versus 350Z, STi, even 2.0T GTI is faster for in gear acceelration than you...)

As long as I can still do more than double the speed limit on highway onramps and not get caught I am fine with the regulation.

And since Toronto is the center of the fcking universe, and Ontario is the milkway around it, I say go Ontario.

I've been there too. Thailand rocks. Any place where I can get Red Bull for 25 cents, the best Pad Thai in the world from a street cart for $1, pet tigers and monkeys, and laugh at the poor saps getting rubbed down by transvestites is ok in my book. **** pasta and hotdogs

? all my speed hating ? Post #1 and post #2 (which a repost i guess) are the only speed related posts by me in this thread. (at a quick glance)

I don't hate speed btw, but I hate the creation of redundant laws. What is wrong with the Careless driving law or the Reckless driving law, did we really need another law? Try enforcing what we have.

Anyways, I"m kind of out of touch with the latest street racing news.
I'll try and find some up dates, as its an interesting topic.

Don't get me wrong I don't agree with street racing, its just the mechanism and the underlying misinformation that makes street racing look like the root of all evil on our roads.

On the laughing gas thing.... since having NOS does not make you street racer I find it offside that they should outlaw it. Its akin to saying anyone that owns a cd burner is a movie or music pirate. Nitrous is just another form of forced induction. If they are going to ban something ban them all not just one type of FI.
Besides, I would be willing to bet turbo kits are more popular than nitrous on the street racing scene. (I nothing to back this up ... just a hunch)

This makes me sad, cause its mostly true.

Speed limit has to change... Somehow it just doesnt make sense to limit you to go 50km/h on a 4 lane road with nothing crazy around the area, say on Highway 7 near the McCowan Rd., Markham, ON intersection. And its just an example, there are a lot more of these out there than that I can list here. I dont know but maybe they are doing this to create spots for police to trap us tax payers...

Dont know about other provinces. But I am kind of mad with this coz I am a poor victum =/

I would say in Ontario it would be more appropriate to call it Speed Entrapment not Speed Enforcement.

I agree, they don't want you to stop speeding.

The same way they don't really want you to stop smoking.

Its obvious fines do not stop people from speeding but do they look for another method to prevent this? MMMmmmMMMMM

1) You could limit every car to 100Km/hr

2) Different speed zones could easily broadcast their speed limit which if implemented your car would be governed to.

End of story no more speeding.

Yeah there are no speed limit only suggested speed thats why I can speed at my hearts content...

HOWEVER,

According to the HTA... the maximum speed a car can travel on any highway in the province of Ontario is 100km/h.

So even if thsoe signs are "recommendation", you can get nailed for going over 100km

So just do 149km/h on ramp MAX hahaha
