OK so some one hit my car
Thats right... I have falled victum to an idiot driver. I have become one of these people who we all read about and feel for.
Lastnight my car was parked (on the street) at a friends house. we had gone out for the day and we got back at like 10:30 at night. when we rolled up her street, there were a coupple of peop[le on the street around my car and i was like WTF? So ya... lois was hit. The nabour saw the hole thing. a lady had backed out from the drivway accross the street and hit my car and took off. THANKS! So.... I go over to the house and im like "did you just have company leave here not to long ago?" "He said yes" so i tell him that they just hit my car and if he could call them to come back. He "convientley" couldent get a hold of them so i had nothing. she him and I exchanged phone #'s and i said that the nabour had their licences plate so if they did not call that i would have to go to the police. I really didnt have the l.p # but i needed leverage.
so i take off and head for home when i get the call. it was a man and said that it was his wife. she had hit the car and freaked out and took off. once again THANKS. he was appoliogetic and is going to pay for the damages. so i guess something good came out of this. the damage was to my drivers rear 1/4 pannel and rim
I went to mazda this morning and got a perliminary estimate of $1150.00.
People.... **** happens.... it happenns to us all. if you accidently hit some ones car.... stick around or leave a note with your 411.

My sister's car was recently hit while parked outside of her house on the street. It was slammed by a drunk driver and she found her car 40 feet from where it was parked, absolutely totaled. I guess all we cared about at that point was that she was okay. Not that these situations are ever "good," but I think it worked out okay for her because her Neon got totaled and she now drives a Passat.
Sorry to hear about it, but at least you could contact the woman and get your **** paid for. Sounds like everything will work out, I don't think most people are that lucky.

What a shitty thing for someone to do. Just because they freaked out they got scared and ran. It just makes me think that they would have never fessed up if you hadn't used your trick.
Last year I nicked someone's bumper in a parking lot. I didn't even hesitate and left all of my contact info. I offered to pay for the damaged paint that I had caused and ended up paying $250. Sure I could have just left and that person would have probably never known when and who did it and I could have saved 250. But it was the right thing to do.

I was the victim of a hit and run. I was at a party of a friend of a friend's...
My car was parked on the drive way and when I went home, there was a huge dent on the passenger side sliding door (luckily it was in my old sh!tbox van but still). It seemed like the vehicle was backing out of the driveway, turning to the road and hit the side of my van.
The host played dumb and said they didnt know anyone who drove a white vehicle (white paint marks were left on the door). Some people are just don't have the proper convictions to own up to their mistakes and face the consequences...

damn helas, that sucks, but at least you managed to get a hold of the other guy and get 'em to pay for damages.
I remember my car got hit just after i installed a new fiberglass bumper and had it painted. Needless to say the person didn't stick around. Bastards.
LMK if you need anythin partswise.
Cheers.

Its too bad to hear you ar enow a victim Alex. Hopefully everythings gets fixed quickly and properly.
About 2 years ago I hit a HIghlander while backing out of a parking spot. The truck crossed behind me and the driver slammed on the brakes and stopped just as I was backing out. I gave the driver all this info and wound up paying $1000 to get her bumper repainted (I scuffed the side portion), and a rim resurfaced.

Sucks to hear Helas..
But you had people around who cares about stuff like this... imagine if the neighbour didn't see what happened. There would be no way to know who hit your car.
I hate it when people hit other cars and don't own up to it.
My drivers side rear door is still dented due to some idiot from a parking lot at a Canadian tire.
Hope everything gets cleared up!
Lates,

Alex, hope it works out. My girlfriend in Brampton sees you all the time at the Timmy's on Sandalwood...nice ride.
I'm terrified every time I come into Brampton to a power centre or a Canadian Tire or a whatever mall. Even parking on the street. Brampton has become the retard captial of Ontario when it comes to parking/hitting cars on the street. You can park miles away from Fortinos with nobody around and when you come back there are massive vans/SUVS who made it their mission to park next to you...even with empty spots in front of the bloody store. And I'm a J.A. Turner alumni!

thanks everyone. it is nice to know we all care about one-a-other when it somes down to it. About 2 months after my mom got her new car, she was at a restrant with a friend and a girl had backed up into her car and taken all the paint off her rear bumper. she worked at the restrant and was sooo freaked out that she stayed in her car for an hour and a half waiting for my mom to come out of the restrant. Thats class!!! no matter what that damage or the shitty-ness of the car... it is only the right thing to do---unless it is a Lamborgini, then RUN RUN FAR AWAY (kidding kidding)
they guy called me yesterday and told me that he called his insurance company and put a clame in so my agent told me that we are going to do the same thismorning.

you are tottally right there. Brampton on the hole had become a comocasi field. it is almost to the point that i am afraid to back out of my drive way. next time your gf sees me tell her to introduse herself or say hello.
luigi, you make me laugh... what the hell did you name yours? bambina? or something like that?

I totally feel for you Helas! My car was hit yesterday too, nowhere near as bad as yours, but paint is cracked and there's a scuff mark on my rear bumper. I only noticed it after I got home last night, so while I can't say when/where it happened, my guess is cuz I parked on the street the whole day. Street parking is never safe it seems. Makes me feel like buying a beater for daily commute
