I'd never heard of this car, so I did some checking. Check out:

Sweet! Old school! Imagine doing a suicide door conversion on the rx4. That would actually be blasmephy (sp?).

3....

..never owned a '4', but had an RX-3. Tight, small, hard suspension.

They introduced the RX-4 and went a little too far the other way, imitation american car mushy ride, but it DID have the first of the 1.3 litre engines. The old RX-3 only had a 1.2L, strangely enough, the first RX-7s came with the smaller motor....wtf?

Yes RX-4's are cool...my dad owned RX-2's, RX-3's, RX-4's and was a salesman for Mazda in the early 80's and sold the first generation RX-7's.
He really wants to find an RX-4 again...too bad they are almost non-existant in Canada!!

I had a chance to own an RX-4 stationwagon a few years ago! It was comlete with fake wood side trim!! they were neet cars, far from as reliable as the RXs of present day

Sorry, any RX prior to the 7 does nothing for me.

I disagree. The RX3 was a very nice looking car (for its time). Here is an SP edition.

I agree with you but I think the RX7's body is timeless. The mark of design perfection.

Mic . I didn't say it was ugly. I just said I don't perfer that model. It's the rotary engine that drives me . Not the body .

The touring 7 body and 8 body's are the only two I do perfer.

Thanks Mic, your approval made me excited and I found some pics for you! lol

The RX-4 came with a 13B 4-port and a little Nikki carb. It had points and distributor igniton, which was a bad idea because at 9k rpm the points would actually float and made the car stutter.

My dad had many races with new Camaros and Mustangs back in the day, and when they finally caught up to him at the next red light, they would ask "Hey, whats under the hood?" He would just say "Ummm...well there are no pistons.....actually it's probably way over your head, so never mind!"

I see some people are really picky towards what rotary vehicles show up...

You should have seen all the RX-3's, RX-4's and the rotary pickup in Cali for 7Stock... Those were some pimped out rides!

I have a personal preference myself, but I still like the idea of the RX-3's and RX-4's... I'm sure Mazda will be bringing back a 4 door sedan with a rotary engine soon enough... First the Miata... then the sedans... At least make the engine optional equipment...

Lates,

I think there is something subconscious that makes us like the cars driven by our fathers. I have been drooling over Ford Cortinas for years and trust me the car doesn't deserve it. I'll keep a look out for a horse and cart for you 8 owners! :p

Not much, but love all rotaries as long as they are in a Mazda, not to keen on that Civic with a rotary I saw once on the net.
