ON Ontario - Dealer Sym-tech Rustproofing

I just bought a 2010 RX8 in mint condition and I am obsessing about rust-proofing which must be done shortly! It's between Krown and the dealer sym-tech product. After looking at the number of holes drilled in friend's vehicles and observing the black oil all over the bottom of their vehicles I can't say I am overly keen on annual application of this goop with ongoing dripping year long. The dealer warranty is identical to the Krown warrantly (lifetime for perforation) without the hassle of annual application and the drippy mess, and annual inspections are not required. I drove my RX7 for 12 years and plan on doing the same with my RX8!!. $500. for one time application of dealer Sym-tech product, 140. per year for Krown ($1400. for ten years!) Has anyone had experience with the dealer product SYM-TECH?? Thanks!!

Forget any dealer crap, have it on my '05 (diamond coat), the wax stuff cracks and it's not applied where it matters. The "annual inspection" is BS, there is no application of product, and they stop sending you reminder notices after year 3...

Had over a dozen new cars, and found that Rust Chek or Krown is the only thing that works. Any true rust product needs an annual application, and the stuff only drips a couple of days. The holes they drill get treated and capped, never had one rust on me.

Thank you so much for your reply.

However, there is no annual inspection, the undercoating is done once and the perforation warranty is good for as long as you own the car! You can even transfer the warranty if you sell within 7 years of application. I was hoping someone would have experience with this product and could tell me if actually works!!
