overall rx8 feeling in Canada
Im in CT,U.S......is this car projected to be a big seller in Canada?
Not sure how well the rx7's sold or if numbers were close to u.s. sales or even how they did in Europe for that matter. That would be some good investigative work for someone.Maybe someone out there has figures on those numbers.( or projected sales numbers for the 8's)
Was just wondering considering the long winters in Canada and the snow and such, ect.Plus its a rear wheel drive vehicle.
Would appreciate some insight from the Canadians out there........thanks.

not much snow where i live (west coast).
i'm on a waiting list at a dealership in port moody (#9 spot). it's like a farther away 'burb of vancouver. and from what i hear, all dealerships have waiting lists of AT LEAST 5 or more people -usually more.
Canada is only getting 700 RX-8s which sucks goat ***, but hey, what can you do?
so yeah, i think it's gonna be a good seller in Canada. but that's my opinion.

It's hard to say. Will the RX-8 be a big seller for Mazda? Sure, in relative terms.
But, you also have to realize that the entire Canadian market has about as many people in it as California.
Also, the buying habits in that group are different.
The best selling cars in the US are the Camry and Accord.
The best selling cars in Canada are the Civic followed by the J-Bodys.
There aren't nearly as many Canadians, and we tend to buy cheaper cars. Probably why Mazda is brining in such limited numbers of RX-8s.

I think if they keep the price at it's current level it will be a good seller. Not too many rwd cars in the mid/high 30's out there.. WRX is a very different animal.
