41000 is a good deal for tax included. Many of us Calgarians got our GT for 40.5K tax/freight/etc included. There have been a couple of other guys that have gotten theirs for a little under 40K all in (I seem to recall the lowest being 39.5K??). Mind you you BC folk have sales tax and we don't, so indeed that's good. See if you can squeak in some other goodies like wheel locks, etc.

yes it is 05 brand new. he said he took 7000$ off the normal price.
Today i went to another dealer who offer me used by manager car
(white 05 GT 6sp with 11k on it) cost 33000+ tax
i am still deciding if i should get brand new or not since is cheaper with

Depends on what you're more comfy with. You never know what the manager guy did with the car, although 11K is an ok amount on it. I guess if he brought it in for regular service and the maintanance guys ensure you that it's ok, then take it.

Don't even think of importing. By the time you get all the approvals, inspections, freight, taxes and upgrades done (ie DRL), it'll probably be the same if not more than what you're going to pay here in Canada. Plus you won't get the supercool headlight washers and DRLs (though you will get TPMS). The other thing is maybe the 15year old rule applies as well ... I don't know
If you are SERIOUS about importing and have the time ... here is a link from a local Calgary car forum. The fellow since he created the thread has imported a number of "rare" cars like supras, mr2's and older rx7s. Personally, I'd ONLY go through all this trouble for a "rare" car (like a Delorian or 80's Fairlady Z) and not for a "commonly attainable" car like the rx8 or any other car currently in production

The deals that you got at the dealership are pretty good already. If you want to really save cash, you may want to find a 2004 and buy privately ... my guess is high 20's to low 30's.

There's been a delay in getting the 2006 models out but they should be arriving soon. I think I recently saw pics of a guy in the states who bought a phantom blue (I think that's what it's called ... whatever ... Mazda 5 blue)

try west coast mazda in PM... ask for ben.. hes a cool guy.. really likes to help out and is honest...mention my name Sarim ( guy who bought the Grey RX-8 for a trade in with the black SVT focus ( so i can get my 100$ refferal, lol)..
the 04s is what i got and its the first yr so no changes..yellow and Nordic Green are the unique colours for this yr.
05 had the flip key.. and the SE shinka was introduced with the ugly white colour 8 ( IMO)
06 i believe have the smart card keyless entry that auto locks/unlocks as you walk away from the car or towards the car.. and push start button.. with the introduction of a few new colours, that look really good.. i love the graphite.. and the auto gets the 6 port engine i believe..

np.. just start buggin them now.. ypur persistence shows interest and interest leads to a sale... and a sale leads to a commission.. so they should be willing to negotiate.. always remember.. you are the boss not MAZDA!! remind them that you can go anywhere else...but they will be the ones stuck with the burden of extra inventory...thats how i played it... kinda..lol

2005s have been selling at great prices; I suspect most of the new RX-8s are 2006s that the dealers are apparently starting to get.
If you want the car, and you are decent at haggling, then they will help you out; they won't let you walk out the door on a $500 difference, if you're serious, but don't waste your time if you're not convinced that you are getting the best price. Also, if you have a trade, think about how much you want for it - it'll give you some more room to wiggle. Traditionally speaking, you should negotiate the price of the car, and then the price of the trade, but if you show goodwill by combining the two (giving the dealer more room to wiggle) then they might help you out.
You're not going to see 2006s for 2005 prices, however.

Price of used 05 MT GT with 15000km?
I've been following the thread on price of new 05s but wondering if someone can help with pricing for a used one.
How much should I expect to pay dealer (before taxes) for a used 05 MT GT with 15000km? Cash deal.
Thanks, ..Roger

i think the 29k is only with turbo" cause i asked him haha ""
but is always better to get a stock one right ?
I got a question:
does Rx8 eat gas a lot ? even more than M3 or STI ?
and i have been searching through the net i found someone saying
the 1.3L of rx8 engine is devided into two ?
0.65 + 0.65 = 1.3 L ? i know i sound newbie but just wondering
Is it 1.3L or 2.6L ??
thanks

Hey Dee, I was asking how much should I expect to pay to BUY a used 05 GT MT with moonroof, 15000km, from Dealer (cash purchase). I'm not looking to sell but to buy. You said $32K. Do you mean I should be able to negotiate buying it for that price? Thx, ..Roger

o...sorry i misunderstood you. I think u can get a used one around 32k from dealer.
If u are living in Vancouver, the cheapest dealer second hand i hv seem is in
wolf mazda which is on "low heat " + boundary (i cant spell) and is a white Rx8 for 32k.
it is the same car selling on RS. White 05 MT 11xxx Km. for that one i think they ask to sell it for less than 32k maybe 30k ? but they are quite cheeky there.
i feel like buying from dealer danial who is located in port moody.
i feel that he is one of the best mazda dealer and will give u the best deal
trying calling him before hand and see. he want to sell me a 05 brand new GT fully loaded
except nav. for 41k and i think can go cheaper but i dun hv the money.
gd luck with you buy !!
