For those with a rust problem on their 8's wheel wells, I had my local dealer examine and pay for the repair of wheel well rust after 5 years of ownership.
Although the rusting was not as sever as that on the initial post of this thread it was still enough for the service manager to side with me.
My advise to those with this issue is to go see their dealer and complain.

The key to reducing rust is to clean the wheel wells often. Most people wash the cars they wipe on the surface what they see. When it comes to the wheel arch area, most people just wipe the arch (surfacewise), but never reach in to wipe the wheel well.
I am going onto my 3rd winter now. I do not have any rust in my wheel wells yet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time, but my efforts are paying off in delaying the rust. I plan to drive the car all year round every year until it runs down into the ground.
I wash my car weekly. In the winter, water spraying is good in the arches. If that is not available. You can use Meguairs Quick detailer ultimate DIRECTLY onto the wheel arch area and just wipe it. This step takes like 5 minutes. Keep a microfibre cloth ready in the trunk.

Pull off your liners and take a good look - likely you'll find rust on the inside lip but even worse on the welded on supports holding your liner.
Since I had the dealer install lifetime wax rustproof (Diamond-Kote) & undercoat on my '05 when new, it was repaired by them, but not without debate. I sanded down all the rust first to ensure everything was gone before the re-finish.
Now it's stored, got a new Ram for the winters, and Krown'd it - oil spraying is the only thing that seems to work - though the mess sucks, and I'm still steamed about my VW dealer blaming failed electrical components on the oil spraying on my last POS Passat.

Hey i have some bubbling on my wheel wells no rusting through yet, should i just hit the dealership and make them fix it, is an 05 with 55000km on it, so its still covered right?
and would the bubbling be enough of a reason for them to do something...i cant wait for these pics on how to fix the problem.

Yellow spots in lighter coloured paint is simple oxidation of the paint particles, not the metal. I've had this on several lighter coloured cars. You need to sand it out, or it spreads, and touch up the rest. It's not body corrosion in most cases. I hear it has to do with how the metallic bits bind, but I'm not convinced.
Winters just are hard on cars. Trying to keep in clean in the crannies reduces the chance you'll be stuck with gritty bits sanding away the pain, but it's probably inevitable.

Heading into the 5th winter with my 04. It's a daily driver with 53K Wisconsin miles. Not the slightest bit of rust evident. IMHO, those cars were neglected!

I want it to warm up so badly because I can see all the grit and snow building up inside my wheel wells. I'm just nervous that if I go wash it all the water and stuff will freeze my door rubber and then I'll have another problem on my hands.
