rail troubles delay Jan. deliveries??
Hey, this just in. I recall reading a couple of posts of expecting delivery in January. Apparently, bad weather is creating huge problems for the rails from Vancouver. My dealer at Mountain Mazda faxed me a letter from Mazda stating that the delays could be as much as 3 - 4 weeks :o Luckily for me, my dealer was able to call Mazda head office on my behalf, and got snagged me another identical car that had just passed the trouble spot.
I can hardly wait... i expect to get my Silver GT /w moonroof in at least 14 days.

Last week dealer report showed mine is on rail. Yesterday morning, my son's daily route to school by train passes the CN yard and he saw the car is sitting there.
Sales manager told me he is ready to pick it up this week instead waiting for the transport trailer.
Can't wait no more.....

Well, I guess most people already waited at least several weeks, another several shouldn't bother them... NOT. Well, at least I have a written gurantee from Mazda head office that I will be getting a car that has made it beyond the delay point.

Still 2004. The 2005's wont be ready for delivery till at least September. I don't know that for sure, but that's what most people would tell you from their dealings with Mazda.

Hey CrackerJax, I wonder if you'll be getting my Silver GT w/ moonroof?!?!
I checked with my dealer on Dec 18 and he said the car was in port in Vancouver and could take up to a month to make it here. So I was patiently waiting to get a call back, but now I guess I'll have to do some investigating...
I gave my deposit in Sept. and now everybody's driving me nuts asking me when I'm getting my car! My only consolation is that I wouldn't be driving it anyway as it dropped to -40 overnight here this week (and that's Farenheit or Celsius, or F'n Cold if you prefer) and I would need winter tires before I can really venture out. This may have to wait till next fall so...
Enjoy the car if it's mine, I'll drive yours later.
Thanks for the info.

Listen rotarx-8, you just might be right, sorry about your luck j/k :D Apparently, my original car's last status was rails. Then I got the bad news that there are problems with the trains, and I wont be seeing my new baby in few more weeks. My AMAZING dealer (gotta give Peter from Mountain Mazda props here), made some calls, and snatched me anohter that had already made it beyond the rail trouble point.
I couldn't wait to share the news with everyone... but I got the call on Friday... and she's HERE!!! I'm going in Monday to redo the paper work with the new VIN, get my insurance stuff together on Tuesday... and if the roads are clear (didn't get snow tires), I'll be taking her home on Wednesday... YES!!!
On another funny note, I noticed that the Mazda dealership near where I live had a Blue 8 on display out front for the last couple of weeks, now they have a Titanium.. I get the strange feeling that, that was my ORIGINAL order that I cancelled Yes, so Titanium to Silver... there's an interesting story behind this... but maybe I'll save it for later, don't enjoy talking too much
