RE: Invitation to the Grand Prix of Mosport, July 22-24, 2011

I meant in general I get there ad emails, but ya,I got a hold of someone and got the email and link.
If we're taking 7 down, just set up meet points at 400 and Hwy 7 for Vaughan Woodbirdge and other people coming from Sauga, Oakville, Hamilton, Brampton and so forth. They can trek it down, and the rest could meet up at the former Office Depot at Woodbine and Hwy 7. Its on your passenger side, so won't be hard to get back into traffic. This location is where Fire and Ice is. There's a Tim Hortons near Ninth Line and Hwy 7. I'll be there with guys from that side of Markham, so Rick, if Chris/Rev wants to come up, Jay/RevRX8, anyone else from Scarborough, Mornningside Area. And continue the cruise from there. We can tweak up the meet pointsN keeping it to the driver side would make sense, so people can merge back to the main road quickly. That's why I excluded that Shell Station at Woodbine and Hwy 7, and Markville Mall, and the plaza at Weston and 7.
I can plan it out on Thursday if you like. Last time Mazda Canada got involved was MOTM 2007 which they partnered with CSCS at Cayuga, and it was pretty fun, and I planned a cruise with a few guys in Markham at the time.

Toyota and Scion are where my alligiances lay, they have been totally supportive of my endeavors and I can have an open discussion with them without being labeled as negative. When I ask Scion for a vehicle for an event they immediately open their inventory of company vehicles and ask which one we need.

RIP Mx-3. Hello Rx-8!
My everlasting memory of MCI is when one of the now directors told my dealer principal that I was too "concerned with racing and not selling cars" because they didnt see the tie in from the car clubs etc to vehicle sales.

I hope you come, this seems you be your chance. I'd say it maybe wouldn't be worth your while, but you're still racing a Mazda, this is for you.

Guys I really do appreciate your support as usual. I somehow dont think that Mazda Canada really wants me there and it is not the right forum to discuss what once was. I spent 22 years of my life and career supporting the underdog, stayed with them when they had nothing and no market share. My reward for my loyalty was what I said above. Like I said they had their chance to work with me, we sold (mostly to you guys) a ton of Mazdaspeed parts, gave some respect back to the dealers and I got the "statement" lol.

Well, at this event, you have Mazda on a plater. Sounds like they know they've screwed up and are asking for help. Take this as their last chance, their moment of weakness, they're at your knees, asking for help. If they don't listen, they don't take THEIR iniative seriously, than yes, hope would be lost with them. Everyone makes mistakes, maybe they FINALLY realised theirs.

Al, I still think you should persevere and come and speak up... I have something to say to Mazda as well. I want them to bring the B-spec Mazda 2's here and try to setup a program where the average person that wants to race can easily get into racing. The B-spec Mazda's are the cheapest ticket to racing I believe.

Al it's unfortunate that you won't be there, it sounds like your experience with Mazda is important to bring up, you have your reasons and thats cool. If you know someone who is coming that knows your experience well enough or if there is someone who you feel can carry your experience to the meet it would be great. If you don't mind of course.
