Redline Price increase

I went to replace some Redline fluids we sold and have found out that they have increased prices substancially (20% or so depending on product). We have some MTL and MT90 left that we will sell at old price until April 30 if anyone is interested!

Hey dont shoot the messenger lol! Most of you guys are very loyal to us, so I figure you deserve a deal when you can get it. I have about 8 litres of MTL and about 20 litres of MT90 left. We also have 5W20 synthetic motor oil if you have any non rotary cars that you need oil for. We are out of 75W90 gear oil, i just re ordered but it will be about $2.50 more per litre

I think I need 1 quart of MTL to thin out my 75W90 (Ratio of 3:1). Problem is I have 4 quarts of Royal Purple. Will it mix?

Why is Royal Purple so bad for the RX8 tranny?

I don't think it is. Synthetic gear oil is synthetic gear oil. It's the driver that will blow out the tranny.

EDIT: I should mention the only difference in gear oils may be a synchromesh additive, if one exists...I may be talking out my ***...

MTL is 75W80 not 75W90. MT90 is 75W90 I believe the tranny's only take like 2-3 liters, if you have 4 you will push it out the air bleed

Ya....I have 4 so I can do the diff as well. 1.8 for tranny, 1.4 for diff.

I think I'm gonna go against mixing it though, don't want it too thin.

You want to put in MTL or MT90 in the gearbox and 75W90 in the diff. DO NOT put in anything that says NS or NON SLIP (for example Redline makes 75W90NS gear oil) in either one! You will f_up the synchros in the gearbox and f_up the limited slip in the diff.

Here is the oil that I was planning on using:

Royal Purple - Max Gear - 75W90

Max-Gear is an ultra-tough automotive gear oil. It’s designed to maximize power and provide unsurpassed protection to heavily loaded gears. It makes gears run smoother, quieter, cooler and longer without overhauls.

Max-Gear outperforms other gear oils because it combines the highest quality synthetic oils with Royal Purple’s proprietary Synslide additive technology.

Max-Gear is recommended for use in truck, motor home / RV, and automotive front or rear differentials, manual transmissions, and lower gear units of marine engines that specify use of an API GL-5 or GL-4 fluid. All viscosities of Max-Gear are formulated with hypoid friction modifiers necessary for use in clutch or cone type differentials. No additional additives are necessary.

I was going to use it in the transmission and rear dif, that is 500km's after she goes under the knife for a new tranny.

Let me know if this is good to go, if not I'll try to return it and get some Red Line.
