Running Lights Out
Any of you ever had your running lights cut out? Just seemed to have happened today on the way home. Thought maybe the emergency brake was still on a little but no...just no running/daytime lights.
Any words back appreciated. Thanks

Thanks to all.
I have to take it in for 24,000 km svc. this Friday, will still be 10 days under 1 year...I'll assume this is covered by warranty!

Your high beam might not be out. I thought mine was, but discovered later it wasn't. Occassionally, after returning home and turning off my headlights, I see the driver side high beam on, but the passenger side is out. Sometimes, raising the handbrake and releasing it will get both DRLs to turn on again. I think my module is screwed as well, but it's out of warranty now so I'm not going to get it fixed.

As it turns out, both of the bulbs were burnt out. A little unusual but replaced and covered under warranty.
On a different note, I took the car to avante mazda in Richmond Hill this time around. This is the first ond only time I have taken any of my cars to any mazda dealership and left feeling good about the whole experience. I may have finally found a mazda dealership that although not easy to get to, doesn't suck. Cheers to Anthony and the guys at avante...you are actually the first dealership in about 6 visits that also bothered to wash my car.

Avante is much better than the other dealerships, but you need to keep them on a short leash. Anthony is a good guy, but some of the other people in the service department are snakes.

When I looked at the bulbs, I saw that the filaments had not burned out, but had become detached from the supporting leads. I felt this was a defect in the manufacturing that Mazda should pay for, especially since it happened on both bulbs within a very short time. I fought with them but they beat me down insisting it was a wearable item. If I had not been so sure about the DRL, I would have replaced the bulbs myself.
