Hi Guys: I had the pleasure of driving an RX8 for 6 days! It was awsome. The power is seamless and it revs willingly to 9 grand. After 6 grand the engine seems to hit its power band. Handling of the car reminds me of a 3rd gen with the hard edges taken off. It is a sweet drive! R

Magoo: Which press vehicle did you have..

The Blue, Black, Yellow?!? I seen them all when I went with a friend to pick up the red one. The power (when the 5 and 6 ports open up (intake) really come on smoothly at 6 grand.

I was impressed with the feel of the car, very stable. and For the size the gearing it pulls nice (for an NA). I mean you could sit and cruise hwy speeds in 3rd gear

Haven't posted for a while as I've been quite busy, but I have tried to pop in now and then to see what's going on with our cars.

Anyways, it's possible Magoo is telling the truth. A few days ago, I was at the corner of Spadina & Richmond waiting for the light to turn and I noticed a bright red RX-8 waiting to turn left. WOW! I'd seen the car at the Auto Show, but it looks absolutely breathtaking in real life on the road and up close. It drove away before I had a chance to do much, but I made a couple of observations. One, it is so quiet! Two, the license plate read RX8GREAT.

I have since found out from a friend that this is indeed a press car and that my friend knows a friend who's close friends with one of the press people, so he got to drive the car around. I was driving a silver RX8 that said "GreatRX8". I put roughly 800 kms on the car and enjoyed it thoroughly and yes I am connected.

 

this pic shows a red one with the reverse of the plate you mention. were you traveling together with this car?
