So - search or browse through the Canada forum, there's a few threads where people have discussed the prices they paid. Lately, it seems that some people have been able to get a couple of thousand off MSRP. Many of us who bought last year, though, happily paid full MSRP (me included). I don't know what supply of the 04s is going to be like through the summer - I recall someone saying they were told the last of the 04s were coming now (ie May), and then there won't be any more Canadian RX-8s available until the 05s arrive. Does your dealer have a few sitting on the lot? Would you accept a different colour for a better price? (ie how flexible are you?) Is it worth paying a bit more to be driving it through the summer vs. trying to get a better deal on an 05?

The price include all freight , PDI and all kind of tax...what ever that is...I use the Ford x-plan to get this quote..wonder if I can get a better price but just talking to them. There are 7 sitting in the lots and they are red and blue...I can take either colour. This is the Markham Mazda...

Could you get an exact break-down of each line of the quote? Tell us exactly what the price is for the car, and exactly what the price is for each of teh PDI, freight, tax, etc. Then we'll have a better idea of the type of deal you're being offered.

Gordon,
I am so silly I didn't write it down..the only thing I remember is the price of the car is 39500 and the PDI is 350, plus a few more tax, license fee etc....the freight is included in the car price and the total before tax is 40300.
Thanks

Based on that, it sounds like you're getting about $1000 off MSRP. That's not bad, but I don't know how it compares to the deals others have gotten in the Toronto area recently. As I suggested, have a look in this forum for previous pricing threads, there are a few back there somewhere!

what do you guys think of a GT with strakes, moonroof, complete body kit, spoiler, MP3 player, Rotary accents front and rear, rustproofing, nightlights for 53K? Think I can get a better deal?

Gorally,
I think you can/should do better than that with 7 on the lot. The dealer invoice for the car is about $36,500. I would bring them down to at least $38K even especially if you are going to add options. I would get a discount on those also for at least 20%.
Play hardball man! You are the client....make them squirm!
Worst case...walk out. I have done it dozens of times and they have always come back to me...and then I made them take more money off (or throw something in) just cause they already turned down my last offer.
hey with 7. They want them off the lot fast.
good luck

p.s. If you want any help let me know. I work in Markham and we could meet and I can share a few of my "car buying tips". I'm one of the few people that actually enjoys buying cars.

Spacemen,
they gave me the price of the car at 395 including the freight. That was from asking them with for the quote without seriously sitting down. Does the 36500 invoice include sunroof? The only opton I might add might be mp3 player, tinited glass or possible spoiler. Can you PM me and give me your number so that I can get a better idea what else I can save.
Thanks.
