Hey guys this is a great idea. I like the Ontario club much better than the Toronto club. However it seems like I may be the entire Niagara chapter seeing as nobody from my area comes to this board. Anyways, if shirts, jackets or any oher clothing is needed or wanted just let me know... Thats what I can bring to the table.

TriRx-8 - Post a thread with a link to here...just want to avoid double threads. Let us know what that thread is also just in case people post there as well. Thanks!

Murray16 - That's great to hear. I don't think there are many 8 drivers that are nudists, so clothing is great :p

Love your artwork Hobbes .. not sure about the red ... give us a look if it was all in chrome...
Try the Ontario, like Club is (black outline) and maybe Ontario Club all in solid black...
Any other ideas team ?

Forget my reply on the other thread, looks like Hobbes has it under control! Nice work Hobbes!

I love your logo but how about dropping the 8 in the logo and making it just the RX Club of Ontario. As a 7 owner I would like to see more cohesion between the rotary crowd. The 7 crowd is a dying breed and the other rotary models have no support at all. It is only if the rest of us join the renesis crowd that we'll have a strong club. I realize that you probably have the numbers without us but come on give us some love, make us feel included. Plus without a model specific name you will be able to transition into the potential new rotary offerings by mazda. I am talking about the rotary Miata or Rx-9 or whatever they come up with next. I can bring my Mazda discount to the table if that helps to sway opinion. The 7 crowd gets 20% off parts at a couple of dealers already. I get 25% off at another and I am sure they would welcome the 8s. Just thinking out loud.

I like him. He's got some fantastic ideas. I rode the rotary cruise with the 7s last summer and had a blast. A bunch of classy guys. Plus I hang out at some of their forums. I seriously think this should be considered.

Hmmm... I dont know how to do the poll.

But it wouldn't hurt to post this on Nopistons.com and Rx7club.com in the canadian forums.

I don't know why but when I read that I thought of strippers :D . Anyhoo, seriously, if anyone can create the polls that would be very helpful.

i can do jackets... embroidered, whatever. Of course I'd need a bunch of people to get them so it'd be feasable. When we all meet for the first time we can get some ideas like style, material, colour, whatever .

Actually I like the Idea of making it one Rotary family, perhaps because I have owned 3 RX-7's before and am still attached to them (although I sold my 79 Street Port 3 years ago! Dammit! Waving fist in the air).

I am glad to see that there are some like minded folks in the crowd. Trust me when your 8s start blowing up, the skills of the 7 and other crowd will be very useful. Many of us have gotten our hands dirty to rebuild engines etc. I know a couple of members that are eagerly trying to get their hands on renesis motors for transplants into their sevens.

The 7 crowd appreciates the 8 and are big fans. There is alot for us to be happy about collectively; the new 3 rotor racing engine announcement, potential new rotary powered cars etc.

I am trying to think of a way to appease those that are more interested in a model specific club. I hate layers of gov't but maybe we could create an overseeing body with model specific branches.

As far as the logo and other paraphernalia, maybe we could make the RX more prominent and leave it to members to choose whether to add a number or not. That way you can be proud of your car as well as support the club. I realize this may drive up costs slightly but I'm just trying to accomodate all interests.

And yes this is the Rx8club site and it is your decision, I haven't mentioned this on the 7 forum yet since I am sure that they will jump on board.

It could be alot of fun, we could challenge the various piston groups to show/shine or track days. My good friend is a notable tuner for 300/350z, he is always suggesting a challenge meet but we never have the numbers.

It only makes sense to join hands and walk into meadows....... sorry I don't know what happened there.

Anyhow, I am excited and I will join your club regardless of name but I can't speak for the others.

Thumbs up i agree...

Being that i still own my beloved 2nd gen RX7.It would be a great idea to merge or add the other rotary clubs with the RX8.
Better showing for car shows, track days etc, etc.
On top of all the info the 4 generations of rotaries could share.
As i mentioned before im up for holding a rotary meeting up here in cambridge at our shop...barbeque for the club and a charity?
Pm me if youhave any dates that would be of interest

Link to poll thread courtesy of 'Amur', the name of the potential club(s) are obviously open to change but the poll captures the pressing question.

I've met dozens of you guys and gals at meets but only 2 with 7s. Neo and Amur.
So here I am going to meets all summer with my RX no name jacket on and all I see is 8s... example .. how many 7s will I see in Belleville tomorrow? Hopefully 1 - Quicks..

Unless a 7 member wandered on to the site they would not know about the Belleville meet since nobody mentioned it in any of the 7 sites. The whole point of the club for me would be to get as much participation as possible. That would obviously require communication.

The advantage of having all RX owners in a club will also come into play for discounts, if suppliers or dealers are told that a club of over 100 members will be buying products we have a better chance at greater discounts. If you tell them we have a club of 20 RX-8 owners, different story. Of course I'm just throwing numbers out but you get the idea.

Power in Numbers baby!

There's nothing wrong with a Leaf's jacket...

Leafs suck large. Always have and always will. Toronto will never see another Stanley Cup as long as Quinn and Sundin are involved with the franchise in any way. I've been part of a dozen Stanley Cups, trust me.
