Thanks for the vote of confidence but I think others would be more comfortable with an 8 owner at the helm. Although, I will commit to creating a constitution and holding the first pow wow to hash out more ideas.

How does April 23rd, 2005 sound for a 'sit down' for all those interested in helping manage a club. I can have a draft constitution ready for debate as well as some other recommendations. It would be nice to get everything finalized quickly so we can spend the entire season promoting the club.

A 7 owner has offered a server and bandwidth if we wanted to create a message board style website similar to the TOProtege.club.

Awaiting your approval and then I will begin requesting volunteers and ideas.

I would suggest setting up a meet on that date/place for all Ontario RX owners to attend and then after all the chit chat, get everyones attention and start soliciting volunteers at that time. I don't think I came accross an 8 owner so far that indicated that they would want to be president. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a good idea for the meet. April 23...lunch meeting? Anyone want to have Angus beef burgers? Suggestion for place:Hero Burger off hwy 7 and (angone?).

Either that or we can take over Mazda Canada's parking lot (hwy 7 & 404), after lunch.

I would think that if a call went out to all RX owners, we could have at least 100 people show up. Therefore I would strongly suggest either make it after the shopping malls close and pick one that could accommodate 100 cars or so.

Hobbes, 1st and foremost, are the burgers good? 2nd can he hold over 100 cars.

I'm getting excited and its over 3 weeks away!!!

O.K. April 23rd it is. I'll post a thread in both the 7 and 8 forums. I'll create ids in the different clubs as RXClubofOntario, I'll give the password to our executive committee when we get one. Until then it will be used for the announcement of our first meeting and discussion of an agenda for the meeting.

As far as a meeting place, we would probably need a place that is conducive for discussion for a group of about 20. I don't think a restaurant would work. If someone knows of such a free space please tell, otherwise it may have to be my home at the 400/Major Mack area.

Ya im with Sham on the whole making a call out to all the 7's and 8's for the best results. As of where, WHERE EVER. it wouldent really matter as long as the lot can accomodate all of us.

I think we were all replying at the same time, I understand that the excitement for a meet but how are you going to get a hundred cars without someone out there promoting. I was thinking we were going to have a planning meeting/meet. I don't think we would would have more than 20 participants for such a meeting.

LS, I think we get a crowd of enthusiasts out there first and then find a dozen people or so who beleive they can contribute to the establishment and success of such an organization. Based on some of the charcters on this forum, I think we can make this a very good club indeed!

100 people? If it happen to be that many I would be really surprised--in a good way of course, but I doubt we'll reach those numbers.

Like Shamblerock mentioned, I too think those who are really are serious about pulling this off can break off from the group that shows and bang out the details later.

BTW I can get a discount on custom made emblems. I'll have mine on at the meet.

Well I created the Ids and threads like I said I would. The thread on the 7 club is already a couple of pages long but 'Hobbes' is the only 8 owner that has posted.
