Saying goodbye to the club and the great folk I've met here

Hello all,

My darling Raquel and I are parting company on Friday...a mere 18,500 km and 3 years later - I will miss her a lot.

I thoroughly enjoyed the early days of the D&B meets, and the characters there....you know who you are - Shamble, Mic! Truly, one of the "funnest" times was the convoy of 8's from Kennedy Commons to the meet site.

Life changes...I'm now engaged to a wonderful 6'6" guy, with 3 - 6'3"+ sons...and needless to say, Raquel just doesn't quite accomodate the new family dynamic.
Add a couple of dogs to the mix and it's finally time for a practical family sedan.

As to Raquel, I think she knows how much I'm going to miss her already and is leaving me with a bit of a parting gift.....just took her out of winter storage, turned on the air and the fan sounded like a jet engine. Turned it off, until I could get her home to look at her in daylight the next day. Started her up the next day.....launched the a/c and oh my god what a stench. Apparently, a wee little mouse had decided to nest in the fan, and in the process of starting Raquel up I had decapitated it. Oops. So we cleaned out the fan, headless body, head and all, and cleaned the fan compartment. Cannot get rid of the stench. Drove her to work today and I must say, it was the most miserable ride...all the windows and the roof open, no fan at all, and the stench just won't seem to go away. Then again, maybe my nasal passages are just imprinted with the scent.

Anybody have any ideas as to de-stenchification, so that I might enjoy my last few rides in her?

Farewell friends and fellow 8 lovers!

Cubakid and Raquel

Wow!

Moving on already?! The car barely has 20K on the clock??
Great to hear you've got engaged. Life always throws you a couple of curve *****.
It's too bad you couldn't stick around a bit longer... but fitting 6ft+ people in a 2+2 car will not work!

Sucks to hear about the mouse. Stupid rodents!

Have any ideas what you're moving into??
Hmm, lets see... 6ft+ people, dogs, etc. I think the move to a large vehicle is inevitable... Sounds like another person heading to the SUV category...
Truely a sad day...

Have a good one... you might see a few of us on the road... don't forget to honk or wave..

Thanks Neo,

You know.....never did see that mythical "7" of yours though.....it was always a bit "damp" during meet days.

Will wave my appreciation at any 8 I see though!

Best wishes to all....and send my regards to the original 8 meet people....Year 1 was grand!

Well, you might not be able to see my car all the time, so I included a pic my bro took 2 weekends ago... Had to do a pic update.
It's a big pic because she requires the highest quality...

I'll pass on the message to the rest of the clan when I see them next...
