Are the metal inserts offset in the UC delrin bushings?

No, they're straight through the centre. The delrin required a bit of trimming to get the metal insert through without too much force on the vice.

I might as well post another update while I'm on here. Got the aluminum subframe bushings installed. Quite the challenge to get the old ones out, but fun nonetheless! I'm starting to worry about what I consider fun...

It looked offset in the pic is why I asked. The metal insert should slip in and rotate fairly easy or it defeats the purpose. My delrin pieces went in with a few hits of a dead-blow rubber hammer too (Motorsports/Speedsource parts). Not sure why yours are so tight.

The lower control arm is offset and those went in nicely but they weren't delrin (Speedsource part). The uppers are centred, the metal insert rotates freely inside the bushing now (drop engineering). I can't get over how free the suspension moves up and down now

Haven't had much time to work on the car lately due to the Toronto Auto Show, and leaving this week for some testing down in Florida for our Porsche team. HOWEVER, I got a chance to test fit a set of take-off's from the front of our Cup car...they fit!!

Hmmmm...

Watch the lowers don't rotate. Mine kept turning and screwing up the alignment

Finally just tig'd the one side to the control arm...been good since

What Cup team are you working with? I was working with GMG on the local events for a couple years when they were still big in GT3 Cup

Everything suspension related is done! Put the PPF and transmission back in the car today, so I can begin my adventures in the engine bay. Already noticed that the side-mount alternator will likely hit the steering shaft that goes from the wheel to the rack The next steps will all be very time consuming but I'm looking forward to the test!

Rolled my rear fenders to make clearance for the wheels/tires as well which was interesting. My car is beyond pristine so getting my "stance nation" friends to do it for me wasn't easy. They gladly gave me the roller though and sat back to drink beer while I stressed out about the risk of cracking the paint! Turns out, it rolled pretty easily and didn't crack the paint at all...success!!

The engine is coming along and ready for test fitting. It will be a slow & tedious process but these things take time

What tranny will you be using? Changing up the gear ratio to reflect your new setup?

I'll continue with the stock transmission for now. A new one with custom ratios will happen someday, but just isn't in the budget right now.

There's a Japanese magazine I've been reading that has great info comparing differ gear ratio and final gear on the 8. Comparing 4.77 and 5.125 as well. Good read. Happy to share it with you some time.

So I've hit a crossroads in my build. At first I was going to sell the RX8 Performance REW swap mount, but then I decided screw it, I just want to drive this thing - no more changing the plans on the fly.

I put my fancy new motor in the car this weekend and much to my surprise it fit....sorta. Notice anything wrong here? The PPF is connected, and aligned within spec. Should I just ditch the RX8 Performance REW swap mount and go with something else at this point? I imagine they won't be very helpful after the thread I posted in the good guy/bad guy section, and I've about had enough of this mount...

If the PPF is bolted, that means the engine is sitting in the correct orientation and you have nothing to worry about other then cosmetic. It's either that or make your own mount which isn't that hard if you have a welder and free time

Did you try loosening everything and see if there was enough tolerances/slack to move it around some? I don't think it's that big of a deal either.

In the other thread you seemed fair and honest. That was the situation as you saw it. I don't think Scott will hold that against you. I'd recommend you call and discuss this with him. Maybe it is off a little, maybe he'll have advice to help, etc. It's no big deal just to call and see

That is as close as I could get it with loosening everything off, as there isn't much tolerance to play with. Having the engine, transmission, and diff in a perfectly straight line as it is stock speaks more to doing the best job possible.

There was more back story with Scott calling my workplace to try and speak with the owner...which really did nothing except leave an even worse taste in my mouth about his company.
