If you guys want to come out to a chilled-drama free meet. Come out tomorrow night to the Canadian Tire Parking lot on Lakeshore just east of the DVP.
We usually get 30-40 Subies there plus a few various other cars (Porsche, S2000, Lotus, etc). It is great, we just hang out and chat, or sometimes play hockey/soccer/frisbee and drink coffee.
No Ricers, no drama, no worries.
All are wlecome. I'll be there tomorrow as always. Meet starts at 8:30ish until whenever.

Come to think of it, it dies down because of natural progression of life.
I said it last year after Mazdaspeed North, and its still true. It was the peak.
From 2008 to 2009, we've done so much. In additional to normal shooting the **** meets and install meets we got track days,

Discovery channel meet,

Support Al to motorsport days (that was the best day ever!), and

follow up by active involvement with Mazdaspeed USA on their ALMS weekend.

All these are hard acts to follow, and since then we have key person move on...thats why.
Since some key persons from our community is gone (eg. Al from Mazda, Mike from Media)...
what are we gonna do now? Its an interesting question.

I can finally breathe again after the LMP2 race car went into the truck safely last night with me in the car steering it....The feeling of 1.5 million right under your *** is both exciting and terrifying...so much carbon fiber, so little time!
Moreover, I just want to express my gratitude to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU in making this event a resounding success.
From the flyers, to volunteers showing up at freaking 7am, to photographers, to the guys who simply have faith and get the legendary never seen before Rx8 (and Rx7s Neo lol) out, to those who were not able to come but send their regards, to those who said they would come but didn't showed up, everyone of you contributed to this event as a whole.
Before I finally bought the car last summer, frankly I don't see a lot of forum activities here (lurking since 2003 fck). Most people were jaded owners already or moved on to other cars, while Al was not happy about the concept of "forum-talk" about dealerships at all (still is lol).
Maybe its my bitching effort, or maybe just because of the right used-car price time, or maybe Al's passion of motorsports and mazdas finally getting known by the community, the forums turned back alive in 2008. In addition, with the new wave of new young punk owners and their energy/passion/naiveness, even the old timers got fired up again and somehow, somewhere, a bond has been built.
Be it late night(unexpected) installation session plus home audio PS3 bash, be it internet gangsta fight, be it meets and cruising organization, and ultimately track day addiction treatment sessions (to get more addicted), the community was revived and been even more active since the hay days back in 2003-5.
I am very happy to be part of this community, and only have best wishes to every one of you in the many future miles and miles of rortary power. May the rotards be with you.
Thank you.
P.S: All ppl who took tons of pics (Jay, Rx8_Scoot, Ka Kui to name a few) please make a copy and give it to Al so he can take it all and burn it to DVDs and send it to corresponding parties telling them Mazda drivers in Canada cares about motorsports....so we can get even more support next year! Thank you!

Extraordinary Engineering
We use to meet up once a month or so for beer and pool/bowling back when I joined in 2005.
Really it comes down to the people in the local club.
If you want a meet then call one! The Roll call thread says there are lots of members around.
Maybe everyone got spoiled by the big install meets and track meets of 2009...
But this is also a social club where I've met some great people. It takes effort to maintain this and nobody else is going to do it for us.
Seize the day!

Ok... when are the next races at Mosport? we could meet then....
or we could do a late night chill meet at one of many places...
Let's do a meet in July for sure.. I need some inspiration. Haven't really detailed or touched the car other then drive it in the last little while...
Suggestions as to meeting places. Make a list.. Let's start this!
