Question Slow to warm up?

Anyone else notice that the warm up time on your 8 is kind'a slow?
I've asked two other members at my office about there 8's and one has confirmed it as well. The other chap say's this is his first car an dosen't have much to compare to.
What do you others say? Can we do anytihng to get more heat out of it for the Winter?

Yes it does take a while. On a cold day when the car isn't completely warmed up and you take it on the highway the temp actually drops. This is due to the oil coolers bringing in cold air to cool the engine. Some guys have been placing cardboard over the oil coolers to reduce the cold air, it has been known to help.
Let's be thankful the engine has a great cooling system, not like the old turbo RX7"s.

Once outside temp drops below minus 10, it does take awhile to warm up. Thankfully the seat heaters don't take as long....

Same thing here. I got to drive 5-6 KMS before she reaches operating temps. I thinks the engine is small and can produce/sustain too much heat. The nature of the beast! At the end of the day if you want to enjoy a peppy rotary engine and bring the revs up to 9G's freely and regulary then the trade off is suffering a bit for heat in the winter. Not crazy about the cardboard over the oil cooler ideas. That guy was not intented to be blocked up.

I drive mine and keep it under 4krpm until the engine is fully warmed. That's usually about 2 miles and gets me almost to the highway.

In my experience almost all of Canada is "slow to warm up. " A small price to pay for a civilized country full of polite citizens.

I knew when I read the title to this thread it would have been from one of our good neighbors to the north. Merry Christmas from sunny Florida!
