Toyota has a reputation of building 'quality', and what most people actually want out of a car is reliability, but what this actually works out to is 'stuff that doesn't break easily'. Which means, it's not going to feel nice, or look pretty, or deliver breath-taking performance (because that stuff breaks easily). Quality is a bit of a moving target; reliability is easy.

The problem is most of the world needs a car that is reliable, not a quality car, nor a performance car.

Having sais that, I am an enthusiast like your selves, I miss my Mazdaspeed 6 so badly I cant tell you! I miss talking to passionate customers about their cars they love so much. Other than the last few days....lol what i dont miss is all the complaining from Mazda customers (M3, M5 mainly) about going through tires and brakes at 30,000km, aligning their cars every year etc. I understand both sides of the equation now, you just have to realize that all the slowrolla and camergay drivers just dont care about the same things we do.
Wait till you got the FT86...I am sure it will change!

The Toyota CEO has done Le Man 24 hrs ... at least he got street cred! :P

I'm a big fan of the older ae86 chasis....so the FT-86 would be a definite car I will look out for...

I'll be at Al's dealership once he gets one.......but that wouldn't be for another 2-3yrs down the road...
